Good on you, mate! Well done, and a story well told. (We're the Buddhists in Bonogin, down the road from your old place in Mudgie, currently befriending kooks, lorries, currawongs, a clutch of turkeys and most recently a pair of king parrots.)
I have 2 Parrots myself I got them when they were very Young they Love me very much I once had the Windows Open ans the Cage too both left ofc but came Back After a hour and never did that again they Even dont shit anymore everywhere in my House because they know I get upset
i have a baby lovebird shes 2 weeks old and is currently eating Kaytee Exact 4 times a day. how many weeks does she have to be to start switching to solids? and how old does she have to be before i can move her to a regular small bird cage. she’s currently in a heated tank but i need to know when she’ll be old enough to use a small cage with perches. thank you.
Waht do you do if the chick isn't gulping it down like that? I like the idea of teh straw as a syringe always wants to Jam then FIRE really suddenly and I find that dangerous as can go into their little lungs.
@@CockatielCompanion Thank you he ate it off the straw last night. How MUCH do you feed them? I can't find an amount anywhere and get vague answers like "until the crop is full" but how would I know it's full? How big is it suppose to get in a similiar sized bird? Mine is a rainbow Lorikeet. thank you for your answer
I really need advice on how to go on this; I found a baby bird in my pools skimmer being sucked into the pipes, luckily, we got her before that happened, I don't know what kinda of bird she is, but she looks a little young. She won't eat or drink, she has feathers, but not a full body feathered. I really need to know what to feed her, how to care for her and any other tips to keep her alive. Please and thank you.
Cs Svebtefb Wth2tbrbrtwb really need to know what sort of bird it is before I can offer any help. Do you know if it's a parrot. Some birds eat meat some eat seeds some nectar feeders very important to know what type of bird it is
How often do they need to be fed as a baby? Im considering getting one in the future but i work almost every single day from 5-6am to around 1-2pm and no one is home during that time
Please help. My baby parrot mostly sleeps. And she sleeps with her head bent sideways. Is it any concern? And I just bought her yesterday. She didn't eat much. Is it just because of new surrounding?
How old is the parrot? Without seeing the bird it is hard to say what the problem might be. When I have baby birds that have been rescued, etc I find it is hard to get food into them the first day, but once they get hungry enough they usually start taking it and away you go. What sort of parrot is it? I would ask questions on a bird forum such as 'tailfeathers' as you will likely get more responses.
These birds are not generally very playful this one is only playful because we raised him from a little baby. If you want to playful parrot you would be much better off with a cockatiel.
heyy! i absolutely loved this video :) but i have a little question. i am raising a baby parrot and i dont know where to keep him during the day. i dont want to scare him unintentionaly from maybe keeping him in a cardboard box or something..can you please give me some advice.. and thank you so much in advance
We usually keep them in clear plastic boxes inside an insulated cooler type bag. In the clear box would be shredded paper and/or soft cloth/towels. Inside the bag we put hot water bottles and change them regularly. We leave the lid on the bag down, but not zipped up so that it is dark, but air transfer is still possible. We change to bigger containers as necessary. Remember parrot nests are dark warm places so try and emulate that and keep them in a quiet place away from foot traffic etc so they can get the rest they need when you are not feeding them. What sort of parrot is it? How old?
@@CockatielCompanion thank you so much for the reply :) its a 3-weeks old handfed lovebird. Got it 2 days ago. i currently keep him in a cardboard box also with shredded paper and towels. he is really cuddly and such a sweetie :) but sometimes he gets a bit scared when i try to pick him up for handfeeding from the box. also do you have any ideas on how to treat him so that he doesnt start biting later on? thank you so much
It depends on the bird. What we usually do is mix up food and leave it in the box/cage and eventually they will start eating it themselves from the bowl, then we start mixing in a bit of millet and place a bowl of seed next to the baby food mix and they will decide when they want to change.
He made the mistake of going into Tweety's (Red Rump) nest box and she bashed him up. Luckily I heard the commotion and ran out and saved his life. But it has left him with a bald spot on the back of his head and a damaged wing. He can fly alright now.
oh know :( its good you got there in the neck of time! i have seen all your videos and see yours and your wifes compassion and love for all of them i love the variety also its nice to see someone who cares about birds as much as me :) thanks for the content have a lovely day
