Very well played hand. I feel like your sizings are optimal vs humans. If you go larger on flop or turn you’ll bloat the pot vs nitty humans(nittier than a solver), and potentially run out of value. Another thing to consider is how good is your opponent. Would suck if he shoved QQ, JJ or TT for value. Also I’m not sure if the player pools are heroic enough for one pair hands to call a river jam. So I dunno if I’m a nit but I might just check back one pair hands that beats you. If true, it would be a case for calling!(polarized bet).
Thanks! In a SB vs BB 3-bet pot, ranges actually get very wide. One pair hands will be getting it in fairly often in an aggressive dynamic, which we have here as this player was 3-betting me 17% of the time and you can see I am willing to play hands as weak as A9. QQ is possible sometimes, and I think is a clear value shove when I check on the river, but those medium over pairs often try to get the money in much faster. They need protection from hands, exactly like mine, and they also lose value vs my 89 type hands when broadways come on the turn and river. You also make a good observation, vs players who have very narrow value betting ranges, but are capable of bluffing, calling vs them a lot is a good strategy. If your value betting range is too tight then it is very easy to have too high of a bluffing frequency. One thing to consider is what they do with all those medium strength hands that check back. If there are a lot of medium strength hands that you beat that will call your bet, but not value bet themselves, then betting might be better than bluff catching even if you sometimes lose to better hands.
