One thing I noticed at 26:29 is that once you over bet the turn and get called that changes the V range a lot, pio would include AA in particular in the range and different strong Ax hands. so it would make more sense to check now after the overbet or bet on turn gets called by the oop player. imo that is why pio is saying to check river now. your changing 2 actions in the hand so both ranges would change
I tried to talk to you a little about this during my steam so hopefully what I said made a little sense. By changing "V" range I am not sure if you meant value or villain, but you are right, when we overbet the turn, the get to river range of both the villain and myself changes drastically. Mostly, the villains range should be much stronger. Because of this, both or value betting range and bluffing range on the river should tighten up somewhat. I think this is what you are talking about here as to why pio is checking river? I do think that is part of the reason why pio wants to check back here. The villian has a stronger range so can now call our bluffs more often. The other half to this, which is what I focused more on in the video, is that Pio actually calls the turn overbet with a few combos of hands that we beat on this river. This is something that most players aren't doing so it surprised me a little so I focused on that more, but you make a great point as well.
Hello, that is a great question and to be honest I don't have the answer. Basically I want to find a size that forces the weakest hand in his calling range to be a slight mistake vs my range. I think it will be hard to force any suited connectors into that category w/o creating to big of a risk for us oop, but trying to get the suited 2 gappers, or off-suit hands to be negative should reasonable. I talk a little about my thoughts on this towards the beginning of part two of this series, but when we get to 4-4.5x I think we start to accomplish this. Keep in mind at this point we are 3betting a linear range and not polar, so even when called our "bluffs" will have some decent equity.
