Wait so we're watching scanlan acting as Sam acting as a woman named Veth that is forced to act like a goblin named Nott who had to illusion up and act like she's a woman named Veth. My head.
The best way to choose names for your gnome character is to throw darts at a map of Australia. Balladonia Sunshine Darwin Toowoomba Cosmo Newbury Sydney Ravensthorpe Yellabina Cocklebiddy Wagga Wagga Pannawonnica Marla Warburton You just can't miss!
@@GuardianTactician But if gnomes reach adulthood at 40, wouldn't a 50 year old gnome be the equivalent of a human in there 20s? So they're probably having their first existential crisis under the crushing weight of the student loans they racked up at Tinker Collage at that point?
There's a difference between a mental age and a biological age. It's not like they have the mentality of a teen until they're 40, just the appearance of one.
I'm glad Sam had Sam's back in this episode. His chemistry with Sam is so good, it's like they have a psychic link or something. Who knows how different this would've been without Sam here to support Sam.
Deep gnomes are one of the most broken races around. They get 120ft dark vision and they can pick deep gnome magic feat to gain 4 racial spells. They are like dark elves and gray dwarves without sunlight sensitivity. +2 int. +1 dex
We just started a mini campaign and I play a gnome barbarian! She speaks in a really high voice and threatens to break everyone’s knees. Nobody takes her seriously. I have a feeling it’s going to be a fun time.
If you want to see one in actual play, watch Trixa from Dark & Dicey! I have a deep gnome barbarian in my home game and no npc that witnessed him cut of the fools leg will ever make fun of him again. Crits are nasty.
Gnomes are the best! I played one for our epic-tier campaign as a Lawful Good Cleric of Trickery, in service to head of the gnomish pantheon of gods, Garl Glittergold, whose major tenet is that mirthful pranks on your friends helps foster community and goodwill. Therefore, it was my holy duty to play tricks on my pals. Hahahahaha!
Do you know what my favotite thing is about this show? This COMPANY now? They don't take themselves seriously. They don't strive for absolute professionalism all the time. Its just so.... NICE. When Sam started going "IDK what the hell i'm supposed to be doing" at the end, with all the random editing pop ups, it was so funny and amazing! You guys are seriously a breath of fresh air, don't ever change. XD
I just made a Rock gnome School of Invention Wizard / Artificer NPC who was a former Professor of Magic in a University, renowned all over the continent due to his books and essays on the "science of magic", it's just so much fun to come up with all the quirks, mannerisms and eccentricities! Gnomes are great!!
ChaosWolf1982 That is precisely the point of this character! As he dabbles in both studies of technology and magic, he has reached the same conclusion you have proposed, seen for example in the creation of his Arcanomechanical Armor (from the School of Invention UA), which is the first of its kind in my setting. I still have to write down a lot of his story, but I believe the concept to be very fascinating. Edit: on the other hand, as it has been said a number of times in pop culture, science we don't yet fully understand is indistinguishable from magic. I wish to explore both these concepts with this character.
God i would love to get a awesome Quick Build like this for playing some kind of a Necromancer. Would be awesome to hear so awesome friendly guids about more exotic character concepts like this.
Am I the only one whose eyes got wide when Sam said, "Ding indeed," because I always say the sing in the theme song? It's like he was speaking directly to me
All of my favorite RP characters are gnomes. They've all been ridiculously over-the-top with literally world shaking goals that were never going to happen, but darn it they were going to try!
I've recently made a character for an upcoming game, and although I made her a Wood Elf, she displayed so many Rock Gnome characteristics, it only made sense to change her over!
Lol. Unknowing Sam just lost backers for his Presidency Campaign. He showed that he doesn’t know one of his own channel’s shows. Vote O’Brien/Johnson for office.
Bryan Duncan what are you talking about Sam has made it known for years he doesn’t watch things. That said go ahead and vote for someone who is an emotional manipulator. Meanwhile I will be over point to the search for Grog special and how happy Liam was to torment Vax’s widow.
I had an awesome idea that I never got to execute with a gnome wizard in a short-lived campaign. Faced with a locked door and in a party without a rogue, she'd turn her familiar into a spider and have it crawl into the lock. Then she'd see through the spider's eyes and discern through her artificer's lore and overall intelligence what a key that would fit this lock would look like. Then she'd use prestidigitation to create a key just like that. I was also planning to give her _knock,_ so that when she failed the check to figure out the key, she could just sigh and cast that.
best and most lovely race ind D&D with the best president of D&D Beyond, thank you Sam for inspiring me to some of my most loved/ played chars in my life till now
I just started a campaign with a rock gnome. She is going for the assassin route with a SUPER tricked out crossbow. I'm using the tinker abilities to have her make little clockwork bombs as well. "Aww isn't that little mouse toy cute? Wait why is its tail sparkling? What the hell is...bomb 5-10 points of fire and slashing damage". Anyway her crossbow will be fitted with optics that each level I grow after 3rd level will grow +1 as well. So yes soon this small creature will be dealing 1d10 + my current level -2. Does anyone else see and hear the irony? Mr. Riegel or anyone else that wants to, please let me know your opinion and what kinds of fun you can foresee with this build.
Sam is having way too much fun here, especially at the end with Minor Illusion. "Forest and Rock"? I believe it, because he has +13 to Deception checks.
My first character was a Gnome Cleric Stoner Pirate. He had a trident that shot fire and a pirate hat. He died and got reincarnated as a *high* elf with a skeleton hand.
I actually have a gnome. His name? Dewey Decimal. Before you start snickering, here’s why. When he was a lad, he stumbled into an ancient library. With only his gnomish to read the books, it took him 10 years to translate the other books, and another 30 years to read them all. His name is Dewey Decimal, as it refers to nonfiction libraries in the real world. Of course, these books have him extreme knowledge, but as with all knowledge, it comes at a cost. His constitution is his lowest stat, so if he gets hit, he’s just about as dead as a door nail. However, with some of his spells like detect poison, this wouldn’t really matter much.
I play a forest gnome barbarian in my friends game. Happy, plucky little fella who can smack you with his comically over-sized hammer and make it up to you with some good ol' fashioned gnomish cuisine when you eventually wake up from being unconscious
I understand that the difference between halfling's humor and gnomish humor is that the first tends to be more innocent in nature; whereas, in the second case, it can be more mischievous (but never crass).
