"It was in the reign of King George III that the aforesaid personages lived and quarreled; good or bad, handsome or ugly, rich or poor, they are all equal now." Epilogue to Stanley Kubrick's epic film, "Barry Lyndon".
The man that wrote this had true passion, the very essence of his humanity and the core of his being is personified with this great work of sheer brilliance.
It was in the reign of George III that the aforesaid personages lived and quarreled; good or bad, handsome or ugly, rich or poor, they are all equal now.
Breathtaking pace, exquisite pathos, Handel's rendition of this popular 16th Century piece, originally entitled "La Follia" escapes the constraints of its small origins to morph into an epic piece.
times of young death, war and pain.....but the light was brighter, the hopes were so greats and each days, soul was eleveted, enought to do such musics rather live 30 years in that world than 80 in ours
Salutations.
+respeezy die forever squeezy mcdeets you fucking wigger go back to dartmouth trailer park and listen to the new jroc album, you have disrespected Handel talking in such a way. This music was made by humans...
Don't joke. Some things must be approached with only the utmost sincerity, like Handel's Sarabande. Other things deserve to be lampooned, mocked and shamed, like wiggers...
This one was re-arranged for the openning theme song (Sarah Brightman version) of "NEWS STATION" of TV ASAHI in Japan between 1st July 2002 and 26th Sep. 2003...
Austria/Germany has produced some of the greatest of all time. Hands down, the most dark and expressive in history. French compositions are good, but you cannot beat something with raw power like Beethoven and Handel.
Germany, Italy, Russia and France for the Bronze... Bizet..should be remembered as the greatest French composer..his work was underappreciated because of his premature death!
Ravel is good, but he is too experimental, he is the Kandinsky of the piano. formulaic, and sometimes because of this his music lacks an aesthetic quality. The bolero is one of the few exceptions where he does not play his piano like one who solves algebraic equations!
Im not a musical genius, but this musical piece cries out to me as if "Lifeless & Saddness" are of one meaning. Yet they are the two words used in his composition to describe the emotion present. Two complete different words yet they share a similar meaning, but adding thee two together possess a strong message hes trying to let out. Maybe im just making this one up, I'm not a musical genius, but one can guess.
This is a somewhat overcooked version of the aria Lascia ch'Io pianga. To get a period understanding read the text in Wikipedia and watch the excerpt from the Farineli film here on RU-vid. Amazing vocal sound.

Important: 3/4 beat, homophonie (music), a 16-bars theme (2 × 8 bars). First variations by Johann(es) Hieronymus (von) Kapsberger (about 1580 - 1651) 1672 Jean Baptiste Lully wrote the "Air des hautbois Les folies d'Espagne". This variations about the Folia-theme has at first all characteristic features of the late Folia. A lot of componist used this theme later, also Georg Friedrich Händel (1685-1759)
Cess pits were cleaned by people in medevil times by I forget the right term for them , but cess pit in old London were called middens , which had to be emptied from time to time , otherwise the pits would overflow , nowadays the pits are pumped out hydraulically , but in those days 13th to 18th cent , the clearing had to be done by hand , a normal worker at the time would be on 9 pence / day , but a cess pit cleaner could charge between 18 to 20 shillings / job well paid but rough work.
