Whenever I find a handicap violator, my car accidentally breaks down behind them but miraculously turns back on when the police arrive. Weird how that works.
So there is a God,,,,, and a cell phone! Years ago there was a district judge that was a paraplegic. He'd park behind the illegal parked car, go do his shopping, come back to his car and the people driving the illegally parked car wouldn't say a thing!
I park as far away as I can, because I can always find a spot quickly get exercise and I just love watching people waiting for a close spot while I walk right past them!
I have cancer and a handicapped parking placard, and if I’m having a good day, I park in a standard spot. I only use a handicapped spot on my bad days. It’s important to keep those spots for those who really need them.
I have a couple disabilities that allows me to use a handicap plate, but like you if I'm having a good day I will park in a normal parking spot. Someone who uses a wheelchair or just needs it may have that spot instead which I'd rather see. I find that people with real disabilities naturally have much more respect and compassion for other handicap people and also will become even more angry at violators who abuse handicap spots. I will actually take pictures of violators that includes their plate and the handicap sign. In one instance, I found a FedEx truck parked across all accessible handicap spots at the local Walgreens. They don't do that anymore though fortunately.
I have multiple issues health wise, many might say I also have mental issues but that's another story. I'm the same,.If I'm having a good day I'll park in a regular spot. Those are the days I will always find some entitled 20 something , usually female, usually black parked in the handicap zone. I've tried approaching these people. My god, they go off on you like you wouldn't believe. Basically, if you say anything your a racist. I had one girl tell me she can park wherever she wants, because she is black. And how dare I say anything. What in the actual fuck is wrong with these entitled assholes ?
@@darkpassenger7064 - I saw a colored woman in a Cadillac SUV parked in a handicap spot I said that I needed the space - so I am standing there with portable oxygen and breathing tube and she just gave me a entitled privileged attitude so i called the cops and she got a $350 ticket
It is very "low" taking handicap spots from those who need them and have placards or plates, just keep in mind that you don't need a wheelchair or walker, I look healthy enough but have arthritis and it's very painful.
for some of us its not about how close it is but how wide the spot is. i use a motorized chair that cant fit between cars. if we park in a standard spot that has cars on both sides he has to block the lane get my chair out of the back get me out then park. if we park in the way out ppl park next to the passenger side he has to pull out block the lane load me, load the chair then, pull in then load the groceries. if ppl use a van to off load a chair they need a whole space for the chair ramp and a space for the van. ppl please stop using our spots. we have LITERALLY no options.
So many people are lazy but they need the exercise. My friend will drive around in circles to find a close parking spot but she will walk 18 holes of golf. Go figure.
I would love to see your friend spend a day trying to walk in my shoes. Maybe then she would realize what it’s like. It’s not like a broke leg it’s legs they have no muscles at all and braces are required just so I can stand with crutches. With a broke leg you still have use of muscles and it may slow you down but take away those muscles and every time you move it tremendous stress on your upper body. Now I’m elderly and have unrepairable rotator cuff damage which now limits the use of my arms but someone like her doesn’t care they only care about themselves. I would never wish anything bad to happen but just one day of that person seeing what it’s really like to be disabled just may open her mind to how wrong shes been robing those who truly need these spaces. Sadly there are more people who abuse than people who deserve them.
@@1951RKP I'm so sorry for your disabilities. I pray for easing of pain for you. My friend is 80 years old but she is still mobile. I give her grief when she drives around looking for a close spot but she ignores me. She never parks in a handicap spot, just as close as she can. She would never take a spot designated handicap.
NGartplay - Nothing wrong with her wanting to be close. At least she’s respectful for the handicap spots. Some day she will need them and be welcome to them.
Well I have a solution for situations like that. If someone parks in a handicapped spot illegally, then you shatter their knee caps. That way they can park in that spot legally.
@@samanthacohen6450 yeah and i bet you are one of these people that use handicap spots without a placard and there is a special place in hell for people like you
Amazing that the comments aren't turned off. I have had a HP card for over 20 years. I don't even bother looking for a HP tag. Most all of the spaces are taken by "regular" people.
I use a walker I have noticed when I call the police to report misuse of disabled placards they blow me off, like it's no big deal. There are times I can't find a place to park when shopping for dinner and I go home and eat breakfast cereal for dinner - I think it's a big deal.
There have been several times when I've had to change my plans too because I couldn't find a handicap parking spot. It's really annoying and sad that people that don't need these spots take them.
TheFarmanimalfriend Well if those spots are taken, then you could simply sit in your vehicle somewhere on their property and wait for one to become available. Obviously there’s a limited amount of handicapped spaces available and unfortunately that’s just how it goes sometimes.
@@Tat2Dragons . "unfortunately that’s just how it goes sometimes." So it's merely 'unfortunate' when a handicapped person is unable to shop because others are misusing handicap placards.
My issue has to do with the snow plows that would dump snow in front of a handicapped person's vehicle after I had shoveled out the car for his dialysis appointment. My only solution was to stand in the street with a shovel in hand and a threatening look on my face to protect my hard work. Maybe if these drivers were fined a couple of times they would learn their lesson.
I hate that they wait for the violator to came out. Goin into the store and have them called over the intercom system and free up that space sooner for someone who actually needs it.
There should be an extra charge for tampering with them, such as that hole punch. I have a valid permit, but stopped using it recently, as the problem I got it for has largely cleared up. Since I don't need the space, I leave it for someone who does, even though I could legally park there.
I can never understand why people who illegally in the handicapped stalls are too lazy to walk the extra distance in the parking lot but will spend a few hours walking around in the store or mall.
I make sure I go out of my way to make sure I find a handicap spot because it’s an option that I have that someone else doesn’t and it’s kind of out of consideration and what I have but got me this placard I have to live with the rest of my life I mean imagine someone with their hand wrapped around the base of your spine and they’re squeezing it that’s what it feels like when you’ve been on your feet too long or standing and you just can’t handle it anymore
One of the smarter things to do when you go shopping like that is to bring someone with you and they just drop you off in front and then you go park the car and walk in and find each other that would be the easiest way
In part, this issue is because most city agencies do not do their job enforcing the laws protecting the disabled, no priority is assigned to correct or enforce the law. Large fines, towing, these actions can make money to pay for enforcement. If tickets were made payable when people get their car sticker, people would have no choice but to pay or no sticker, and another ticket and fine. It can be a real legitimate moneymaker for a city and protect the innocent ones..
I have a placard due to Spinal and Respiratory Issues, i try not to use it as much as i can avoid it because i feel others need it worse than i do. I only use it when i am having issues
Unfortunately it is about being handicapped, it is about have the Handicapped Parking Permit. Doctors will issue about any request for a parking permit, because of they refuse, a complaint by the Patient can be filed to the State, and require several hours of Doctors time explaining why He refused and must show evidence for His decision. Typical America. Just about the Money!
It is good some states do this. However Georgia and Florida doesn't. I was in Florida for 30 years. Never seen a cop write a ticket once. Georgia is the same.
@@smithairrion1476 Oh, i'm human, I forget sometimes. It is always in the car. But vandalizing a car is a worse crime than the illegal parking. Now if I catch you vandalizing my car, or any other for that matter I'm going to do what you should do over the illegal parking, place you under citizen arrest. Now since I'm old very disabled, you are likely to tell me to FO. That means you are now resisting arrest. Yes same as if I still held a badge. Then I can hope you escalate so I can aim center mass.
When you know the challenges and often sufferings that is the foundation for people being granted a handicap parking permit, I have no sympathy for the disrespectful, selfish, inconsiderate and greedy assholes who illegally use parking spaces reserved for handicapped drivers. Tow their cars and fine them.
Very simple, if he or she is a known violator, and their parked in a handicapped parking space and no handicapped license plates or placard, just flatten all 4 tires , see how they'd like it, I don't care what other people say, they deserve it.
Reynaldo Garza Yeah, make it so the vehicle can’t be moved from the handicapped space and prevent those who need the space to have to wait even longer for the space to open up. Smart!
9 only should each and every car within illegally used placard begin a ticket, but the money should not be hwin hunderd dollars but should be $500 each and every time period when I was in college I carpooled with a lady who absolutely needed her handicapped placard and it was never abused with her. With my mother we did not abuse it either . Is absolutely illegal to drive-in a car using a handicaps dicker without the handicapped person In the car with you and if you are illegally using it maybe you should go to jail. because you are Violating the law and why should you get away with that day after day ? Like this one man said, I would trade seats with you any day of the week, as he was sitting in his wheelchair. It's not just difficult for the person in the chair but it's difficult for the person pushing the chair, especially up the street, but also down the street. A caretaker has to be very strong to be able to control the wheelchair and to be able to push the weight of the people occupying the chair so it's not just that you need to be close to the building, you need to be strong,. So think of people who are Disabled and need your help to get around. They have things to do to. And police Need to make these arrests each and every days of the word will get out that you can not use these spots if you are not rightfully entitled to do so.
In Tucson, the merchants have gotten the city to change the law. The law says that there must be a certain number of spaces, but they don't have to be near the doors. The result is that the disabled spaces have been moved away from the doors, sometimes to the far end of the parking lot.
Try a new citizen volunteer program, this will earn much more than increasing the fine Should be a program to have volunteers taking a class to be able to give out parking tickets anywhere they see illegal parking. Most police do not seem to make much of an effort to make time to check it! I see many illegal handicap parking in supermarket stores, malls, downtown street parking.
I'm in favor of set-aside handicapped spots... but how about cracking down on all the fakes. Go to a Costco or Sam's Club any day and you will find 30-40 handicapped spaces filled with SUVs, pick-up trucks, and VERY few actual wheelchair-modified cars. If the drivers can walk around the store for an hour than why can't they walk from a regular space to the store? Get in the store and you find NO ONE using the mechanized carts available except for an occasional mega-fat person loading up the baked goods.
i use a motorized chair. its loaded in the back of my pickup, driven by my husband. its not all about how close its about how wide the space is. my cart doesn't fit between cars. we need the width to get in and out.
MBFLA45 Not every person that uses a wheelchair has/needs to have their vehicles modified. Also, so what if a person with a disability has been in the store for an hour walking? Obviously they’re not walking non stop, they do take breaks.
my teacher could walk around for hours but he only had one leg so I guess going by your logic he should never use a handicap lane. He also drives a truck.... you know cuz most men driver trucks.
You'll find my truck parked in one occasionally. Not because I'm disabled, but because I frequently drive a friend who is permanently in a wheelchair. I simply toss it in my truck bed, if we're going long distance, I strap it down, besides that, no indication of a chair. Occasionally we'll meet with friends and plans will change and one of them will take her from there in which case, you'll then see my non-disabled self get back in my truck and drive off. If that's known ahead of time, I'll go back to my truck immediately and move to a non-handicapped space, but you'll still see my non-disabled self getting back in my truck, unless you stood there for 5+ minutes, you wouldn't know I had dropped her off. And no, some places don't have proper drop-off/pickup locations that we can use in place of a space.
Ezechiel 25:17 The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness for he is TRULY his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will STRIKE DOWN upon thee with GREAT vengeance and FURIOUS anger those who attempt to POISON and DESTROY my brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee!
WoW Illinois Secretary of State Police sure has a lot of free time. Illinois has one of the highest crime rates in America. Maybe this guy should hire a good towing company to teach people a lesson or maybe this particular cop wants the money for his pockets?
The sad thing about handicap placards in Illinois is they are issued to people that are just obese, and that is stupid, fat people need to walk and not park 10 feet from the door, and since when is over eating a handicap??? I'm 76 have neuropathy in both feet (both feet are completely numb and I stumble/trip/fall a lot) but according to my doctor that is not reason enough to warrant a placard. Yeah so it pisses me off to see a fat person with a placard and walking better than I do, but I guess I should be thankful that I'm not in a wheelchair yet or weigh 300 lbs.
Sounds like you’re just making an assumption that they are being issued to people that are just obese. Also, sounds like you need to find another Doctor, one that takes your stumbling and falling seriously enough to realize that you would benefit from being issued a handicapped parking placard.
It also sounds like you think that all people who are obese simply get that way from overeating and don't have health issues of their own that cause them to be that way.
I am against Hp spots totally. Talk about self intitlement. I am a senior who has had my SSI bled by people who did not earn it. I can't afford medical with $50 - $300 co payments. Medicade gets theirs free. They get chairs, etc. I pay. They crab about HC spots then trapse about the mall store after store. If they are not going to fine enough to pay for the spots plus enforcement get rid of them.
Handicapped parking sting? I think you have more important things to worry about. Have drug dealers out there and they worried about parking plate's....
