They came out pretty nice. I like the workmanship that went into them. The heels aren’t normally the style that I go for. In my personal opinion, depending on the height, tapered heels can end up looking feminine. It’s ok though, someone else might hate what I love. It’s human nature. Good job.

Does the stitching pattern on the mid shaft boot strap make it stronger or less inclined to slip down or is it just for esthetics? I’ve noticed some boots have none, some like Red Wings have a tiny little pattern and some, like yours have a cool design to them or just a rectangle. Just wondering. Hope you know what I’m talking about. Does it actually stitch it down to the boot?

great knife control. not many people can skive off leather with such accuracy and surety. me and my Dad were leather workers but never made many shoes.

Why is there a two line on the vamp of many engineer boots? What is the actual reason and purpose of it? This seems to be the case exclusively in engineer boots 🤔

Thanks so much for taking the time to document this process. Shoes and boots have become such a consumable nowadays, it's hearth warming to see how much more it can be when done with intelligence and love. Question if somebody knows... What is the product that is put on the leather at 25:09? Seeing how it's applied with fingers directly instead of the brush makes me think that its probably not glue. I've noticed it in others Unsung videos as well, really curious to know what/why it is.
