Hallo, bei meinen Tests mit Nachbrenner hab ich es mal ausprobiert. Am Anfang war so gut wie kein Unterschied. Dann fiel mir auf, daß die Drehzahl bei geschlossener Düse abnimmt. (Rückstau) Mit einem kleinen Trick im Mischer der Fernbedienung justiert und es waren 4 Kg zu messen bei gleicher Drehzahl. Man kann das auch in diesem Video höhren, wie die Drehzahl langsam abnimmt, wenn die Düse schließt. Mfg Andy
Hi Assar, no the engine is a show model. In Germany its far too heavy for a plane. 25 Kg is max take off weight for planes. The engine is with the new nozzle already 13 Kg. Andy
Hi Greg, man hours i didnt count, but it was a long time between regular job, family and finding the right parts. When the engine was prepared for the very first run, I spent almost 1000 Euro. The turbine wheel and ngv was 350 Euro. The pair of bearings was 180 Euro. The additional material, alloy, stainless steel, brass pipes, starter, pumps ...., Yes, I guess 1000 Euro is realistic😉 Andy
Hallo Georg, hier ist ein Video einer Schubmessung. Da hat jeder sein eigenes System. Ganz genau wirds natürlich mit Sensorik, aber für eine grobe Messung nehmen viele Bastler einfache Waagen. Hi, If the nozzle is open, then you have a mass flow but the gases are slow. When I close the nozzle, the gases become accellerated and the thrust increases. I did a test with fixed nozzles. At 100 mm dia, the thrust was 16,5 Kg at only 50 000 rpm. At 90 mm the thrust was 20 Kg at 50 000 rpm. If I close the nozzle more, the egt rises and the engine gets slowed, because of too much backpressure. Andy

Does the adjustable nozzle actually increase thrust? I posted a link to your channel to AgentJayZ ru-vid.com and he said the adjustable nozzle only works if you have an after burner. Great engine, great project btw!
Hi, the nozzle cannot increase the thrust, but it helps to make the operation easier. During starting the engine accelerates faster and the EGT is lower, if the nozzle is open. At higher thrust, I can adjust the best values for thrust and EGT. Afterburner is in progress, then it will be more interesting with the nozzle. Thank you👍 Cheers Andy
