Wow, what a beauty you produced without CAD. I can almost see how that beast is going to propell a beautiful jet through the air. Thanks for showing your professional skills. I don’t think the salad bowl expected to be used (or abused) like that😅
Meine Bewunderung hast Du!
That's rather good for a home-built unit. Two of those with the current thrust, and it would be sufficient for a manned micro-jet type aircraft with decent performance. (Look at the numbers for the BD-5J.)
what an amazing job! so impressive, i work with a lathe and all, not professional yet at all, to see you make that with such cleverness, its really impressive!
You have so much fun. I would have made the diffuser on rotary table make mill cuts every 12 degrees. I can't believe you did that on your lathe which of course resulted in random irregular spacing. You can get hearing loss without wearing hearing protection. At least use ear plugs.
This is fantastic! I love watching your videos, I dream on building my own RC jet engines, your buildings are really impressive Did they ever operate on a real RC plane?
Hi, this engine will never fly. Its too heavy and its build for shows, or displays. My next engine will hopefully fly. Its already in progress😊 Thank you! Andy
aircraft regulations anywhere in europe is just "if you want to fly, you need a license" which can cost a lot ofc so unless he already has one i'd say it would be quite expensive to just do for fun
Sehr beeindruckend!
Was hast du denn als Triebwerk? Einen Turbolader? Mfg Andy
Mal schauen, ob's klappt.😅 Mfg Robin
could you make a tutorial on the inside? I might've missed it but I'm trying to make one myself. I'm making a model with internal combustion, what're the advantages to combusting at the rear? Also if you could make a link to some of the parts you used that would be awesome. Are you using one or two rear turbines?
Gratuliere!
That is an amazing result for your shop capabilities. Is this low speed low power testing? It is very quiet(because it isn't making any real rpm), and outputting a fraction of what I would expect for the size of engine.
Apparently a B-47 bomber flew like a fighter jet. Imagine 6 of these on a scale B-47 that you could fly in. You might be able to cruise at over 200KIAS with this sort of thrust. Carrying the fuel might be a problem but what's a few small details LOL?
Nicely done!! Amazing as usual. Keep going!!! Are you from Aachen? If you ever need a mill or something else you are more than welcome to come over to Belgium, my wife lived for 3 years in aachen
You should watch AgentJZ, here on RU-vid to see his comments on someone building their own jet engine. Companies spend millions of dollars designing and building jet engines, he said some of these companies went bankrupt. They’re all built out of specialty steel and machined to very close tolerances. The center shaft is (if I remember correctly), forged Crome Molly steel which has to be exact. Just saying. No jet engine made is fuel efficient.
Mfg Andy
@@mattman2216 The engine in this video uses a standard turbo RADIAL compressor wheel, which from a technical view makes it easier make it work. An AXIAL compressor is much more difficult in small engines, I'm talking like 70mm in diameter...This engine whilst impressive in size and thrust isn't difficult to make or get to work TBH. He also didn't make the Turbine wheel or I suspect the NGV section of the engine either....These are INCONEL castings, beyond the home builder...🤔😏😏😳🇬🇧
If the link doesnt work, have a look on RC Network, Forum, Modellbau, Turbinen Jets and search for "Turbine mit 135mm Verdichter und Turbinenrad aus Titan" Its all in German, but a lot of pics and infos. Andy
@Praendy I am also trying to make a jet engine ... can you recommend any book or sites for theory and techniques you used for making the propeller of your jet...
@@krishverma2270 Hi, I only know some books in German, but if you have questions, there is an Australien website JATO Proboards. There you can find a lot of stuff👍 Andy
Stopped @ 5:26, when I finally realized that what was labeled a video is actually a damn slide show with occasional video clips. Which is BS. This is a video site. The images in videos show motion NOT added by editing.
Wow it took 5 and a half minutes to realize it is a slide show? You are not the smartest guy🤣 Also you are not able to skip forward? At about 6 min, the VIDEO starts. You dont need to unsubscribe my channel. (In case you did) I will do that for you. People like you dont know how much work is in a video, even it starts with a slide show. Some things are much easier to tell with a slide show, instead of hours of hours BLA BLA BLA. Do you have one video on your channel? NO? WHY? Think man! Andy
Andy
Please do me on favor, when walking behind the engine and standing in the exhaust, please wear safety glasses. A stupid bug, or its grilled remains smashing at 500km/h into your eyes might cause permanent damage.
You have done a great job, keeping the EGT that low shows a lot of potential, if you can get another 10k RPM, the thrust is going to be so much greater. Looking at something like a KingTech 450N turbine, they recommend a 2200mAh 3S battery for the ECU; it is worth looking at the fuel consumption figures (which I imagine will be very similar to yours) and what pumps they are using.
