Hi guys! I received some happy mail with handmade watercolors by poems about you.
I rearranged my palette to include the new additions and doodled a bit to see how the colors worked together in watercolor paper.

Just discovered your channel last night and I am currently cruising your previous videos. I am super excited to see a Poems About You review, as I just received my second order from the maker (an Inktober set and the indigo!) after buying a number of earth tones from her a year ago. They are fantastic quality paints, easy to rewet and very good pigmentation. I might steal your swatch design for the palette as I haven't done the swatch yet for the Inktober tin, and I was just going to do a boring dot swatch. Thank you for the review!

Yay welcome!! ☺️ I looooooove these watercolors. And they always have colors available which is rare with small businesses that make handmade watercolors. Plleeeeease go ahead and ‘steal’ 😂🤣 that makes me happy! 🙋🏻‍♀️

Your Caput Mortum is very different than the one I received and unboxed this week. Mine was very hard to rewet but also very brown and not the burgundy shade you have here. I love both but it's interesting how different it is.

Oooooh that is interesting! Maybe it’s a different batch. I have seen around handmade watercolors made by the same small business with some differences because they were done at different times - but not sure 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ll definitely check it out! I love gamboge, Naples green and caput mortuum. I just order some additional ones so more to come on the favorite list! 😂😃

Thank you so much! I’m using a Kaweco Perkeo fountain pen - medium nib. Here’s the link from jet pens. But really you can use any fountain pen. And if you are working with watercolors, you just want to make sure you use a waterproof ink. I use platinum carbon ink. I’ll add the links in the description too. Not sure if they work here. Curious about how you decide what colors to put in a limited palette. Do you favor colors that mix well or just go for colors you like? Thanks for another great video!

I usually don't mix colors much - even tho sometimes I like to experiment - most of the time I go with the colors I like the most. But I noticed that if I have limited colors to choose from I am forced to think more about composition, which part should go with which particular color so that it makes more sense or just looks better. I think it's just a very good practice exercise. 😊 have you ever tried to pick only 3 colors fr your drawings?

That makes sense! I think I’ve kind of naturally gravitated towards a limited palette, because I tend to get confused when there are more colors involved. I haven’t been tried picking just 3, yet, but look forward to trying that :)
