Hands On The iPhone 13 Mini (For Photography) 

A Pro Mini would be perfect! I love the small size but the technical drawbacks compared to the Pros bothers

I currently use the 5.8" iPhone 11 Pro and I am so convinced with the 13 Mini except for the lack of the 2x/3x telephoto lens. Unlike many, I actually use the telephoto lens quite a bit - in decent lighting it is fantastic to catch a much closer viewpoint in greater detail. I use the telephoto 2x lens to photograph many plants and other nature artefacts, and sometimes it gets a nice natural bokeh. Also for beautiful views in vast landscapes, while most opt for a normal or ultrawide shot, I still like capturing it at 2x a lot of the time for some reason. If you use the standard 1x lens and zoom into it at 2x, it looks quite worse. But I guess this is a non-issue for 99% of consumers :( If the 13 Mini had a telephoto (2x or 3x) I would get it, I love that lens even more than the ultrawide, which actually isn't very high quality and gets skewed and distorted near the four edges. I guess I will stick it out with my 11 Pro and maybe get a new battery for it, because it's at 84% now.

Imagine combining the processing power of modern smartphones into an actual DSLR. I guess Sony comes close but even they don't seem to use smartphone SoC in their cameras even though I bet they could - since their camera software is copied into their android smartphones. I have the 12 mini and am getting the 13 mini just for the slight bump in battery - it's been an awesome phone for the past year. Also, Product Red ftw. Enjoy!

i really wish there is a 13mini pro, or 14 mini pro :( I am just sick of big phone. I've been using the biggest (Google XL, Iphone Max) phones, they are so uncomfortable to hold

The camera in 13 mini is the worst. I miss my iPhone 6. It took better photos than the (huge) 13 pro that my friend had. Apple has been disappointing lately. The phones are getting bigger and heavier.

Nicely done piece. Had the 13 mini just over a month now and quite pleased. The portability factor, lighter weight, and ease of carry won me over. It’s a device I’ll always have on hand. Nice to be able grab shots one handed too.

Apple did this on purpose. Killed macro mode on 13 mini. My 12 mini worked great with macro focus...its software hack so we would want iphone 14 mini pro....just ridiculous.

That’s exactly what I want. An iPhone pro mini. The only downside of that would be the battery life. It would probably be 2/3 of the 13 mini battery life.

Ironically as a first time Apple user, I bought the SE3 as I could not get my head around the £250 price difference. Gonna upgrade to that red mini when the price drops after the release of the 15 (cos that color is sick).

The lack of ProRaw is making me seriously consider returning my 13 Mini. I love the size, but come on Apple, really? It wasn’t mentioned anywhere before I ordered it.

yeah I think 13 mini and 13 can totally has proraw because they use the same chip as 13 pro and 13 pro max but apple just won't do that!

One ProRaw is about 40MB, so it's too heavy to use at all
