Handspun Yarn, Hand Knit Socks - Sheep, Spinning & Always Running Behind

At the moment I am spinning for a cardigan out of Ramboulette, knitting socks, Sophie scarf, Habitation throw the size of a king size bed and crocheting a cotton king size coverlet. Love your sockalong spinning and your beautiful farm... thank you for sharing! just finished spinning some super fine white mohair and 2-plyed it... feels so beautiful !!! ... I plan on using a strand of it held tog. with a strand of my gray handspun 2-ply wool to hopefully strengthen the feet of my newest socks on the needles

Hi Cary, I sent you an email just now. I don’t know if I should be excited or not. Love your podcast and have started knitting on my handspun socks. When I first started spinning for socks, I always worried that my 4oz braid of fiber wouldn’t produce enough yardage to make a pair of socks. What I do now is knit the toes and cuff in another fiber to be sure I have enough yarn. I always have leftovers from commercially prepared sock yarn . Just a suggestion. I know you had said you like to spun 6oz to be sure you have enough yarn. ❤️

Thanks for sharing your cuties with us. 🐑 I'm excited to see how your samples work up. I'm trying to do a nest of my combo spin every day and I'm already on my 3rd bobbin. I won't have enough for a whole pair of socks, so I need to think about what I can combine it with.

Oh that hand lotion is a wonderful sent! I so enjoyed seeing your sheep. We are hoping to get 3 Shetland ewes this April from a local breader ❤. Where did you purchase your jackets from?

I'm over in Oregon and would love to try the special lotion. I used to have a small flock of shetland with 1 sulfolk. Have not spun through all my fleeces, I'm slow. I knit one cardigan out of my handspun and I love it. Long story to say I like all the sheep visits. We have a town named Molalla and it is after an native American tribe. Is that the name of one of your sheep?
