Great informative video! I’ve experienced a handful of trainers teaching me how to wrap my hands and each of them have their own unique method. This video is by far the best that’s worked for me and highly recommend!
Been using 120 inch on my open thumb bag gloves. Gloves barely slip on. Not sure 180 inch wrap will let me slip on these gloves. I like your method, will try it soon.
Tammy Ryan you're welcome! this wrapping method will definitely help. As for strengthening and hardening your knuckles, it all comes with repetition and proper technique of punching.
I like to wrap the knuckles first so it creates sort of like layers of padding on the knuckles. Going in between the fingers kind of serve as spacing between knuckles and to hold the padding on the knuckles in place. There's more than one way of wrapping. I'm just showing what works best for me. Thanks for the question.
Did you say 118? Thanks for the content! I appreciate the video! I plan to be the best fighter I can be someday and I have to condition my hands properly with no severe injury to hold me back and this helps.
Such a difference! Feels so much better compared to the way my sparring partner taught me. Feel more protected, looks and feels really good and I can actually hit the heavy bags and focus pads harder without fear of injuring my hand again. (Injured my left hand in a street fight with a cocky woman beater)
It's all wrong.... im joking good job. I do mine a similar was but I do my thumb a little different. I like how each in between finger wrap adds another layer to your first one or two knuckles every time. Good stuff 👏 👍.
Hey @Bazbarian any length of handwraps will do but I HIGHLY if not religiously recommend more than 180 inches or if you can 200 inches or about 4 meters. Basically the longer your handwraps the better. Hope that helps
How would u compare this to the style where u make a pad for ur knuckles first? Considering my hand will be in 12oz gloves the whole time what method would u recommend. I certainly prefer this one it’s easier
Hey Neil. Having a pad for your knuckles is also great, if you have enough wrapping to go around. Personally I prefer this one because it feels way more snug, unless, like I said you have enough of the fabric to wrap with that allows you to create a pad for your knuckles AND wrap your hands equally. Master Thong, Coach K of CSA gym and many others uses padding on the knuckles when they wrap. I've seen my method however used here and there, but a prolific fighter I've seen that uses my method is Orono Wor Petchpun😊
I've never seen that detail of tucking in the parts in your palm at the end of wrapping. What exactly is the purpose of that? Just simply for comfort? I mean at like 2:55
@@ForgedManIP I really like this bar that forms with the bandage, it really gives a lot of firmness to strike and it seems to give more support to the wrists. I've thought of getting something rubber or silicone to wrap with the bandage.
Herr in socal we call em packers. When u dont have wraps you can use pens pencils flashlights etc its something to grab onto in order to prevent your knuckles from being injured this combines that concept to the handwrap which is genius and better than other methods that i have seen
There's no difference. Personal preference really, but I find that it feels more sturdy wrapping a larger finger first and moving towards the smallest, that's just me, if you look at orono wor petchpun, a golden Era fighter from the 80's, he wraps his hands just like the way I do it 🙂
Bro it was very simple wrap May allha bless u with such inovative ideas carry on by making such videos and dont care about like and subsribers it will come to u soon ty brother
I jus started training n boxing I've trained in other martial arts ive recently been greeting a lot of pain in my fingers from mit n bag work the glove makes it hard to make a tight fist n now I constantly have this problem when I punch any solutions?
What Nathan Hu said bro. Usually the gloves have a lot to do with how your fists are shaped when you hit the mitts or the heavy bag. I've found that most beginners use those everlast level 1 or 2 gloves that shape your fists unevenly so you end up actually punching with your phalanges instead of your metacarpals. So either your gloves are messing up your fingers or wrist; or your punching at a bad angle that puts stress on your wrists. lots of factors but those are the 2 most likely.
yeah like everything u will get used to it but u want them well protected, im no expert but this should hopefully help you if not get em checked or something, also try to make sure when u punch u are making a solid fist, gloves with a grip bar will help with that
Hi, I really want to buy one but I don't know what length I should buy. 120" or 180"? I have very small hands. Like my wrisk to my knuckles is only a cotton swab length. Same with my middle finger.
@Moucinho you can go either way bro, I like to start with my index finger then go all the way to my pinky so as far as the foundation is concerned, it's stronger or so tp speak.
