I am a person who is hard to be impressed, but this video reduced me to ashes, calligraphy is a very noble art that could transfer so many things withing, I am starting into this art, and hopefully someday will achieve the 1% of this master gifted hand ability.
This is what captivates me. The more elagant, the better. The more complex and tricky to draw....Ill be more in depth with the amazing cursive lettering art!!
Yes I did, and always do. But I'm self-educated, learning by reading, watching and talking to other handwriting people. There was no such subject in school. Cheers, Frank
Beautiful. Man, I wish I could do that...everytime I try to use a pointed nib, I get blobs and bombs of ink flooding out. You had a few wet lines, but it only added to the beauty of your work. Mine...not so much. LOL! Anyway, thanks for posting this. Beautiful copperplate design and execution, and a wonder to behold.
I couldn't tell where to buy things like these. It's self-made from a piece of plastic, very simple and easy to do. Also cheap ;) Have a nice weekend. Frank
Thank you. New (or unused) nibs are covered with an oil film on which ink rolls off like mercury. Flaming (for 2 or 3 seconds) cleans all oil and fat from the metal surface and after that ink runs properly. Regards, Frank
Thank you for your question. I "use" a great cameraman with a steady hand. His name is Steffen Padelt. Sometimes - only sometimes - he uses a tripod. That's it. Cheers. Frank
@hmpeter Danke.
Band: The Zonnhaider's Club Album: The Forthcoming Spring (2007) DISREC02 0:03 1st song: The Forthcoming Spring (Track 02) 3:53 2nd song: The Sea And The Bay (Track 08) Available at: discorporate-records(dot)com It's truly good music and the price is rather symbolic! Please buy it! Regards, Frank
Thank you Hash. That's two frequently asked questions. Please have a look at the comments to this video, there you'll find it answered at great length. Thanks again and kind regards. Frank
First of all, thanks mate. Pricing strongly depends on the complexity of the work, on how much time it takes, how many nerves ... that differs from almost nothing to almost priceless ;) I guess, you know best what price you'd be happy with. Go for it. The rest is up to the client. All the best! Frank
Vielen Dank.
For this kind of lettering the nib should be pointed and flexible. But to use suitable ink and paper is important, too. Please have a look at the list of materials at 4:54. Cheers, Frank
LeftGunner22 Oh yes. It is calligraphy, or now a days, calligraffiti for some. It its also used for graphic designs, but for wall paintings, flyers, poster-art etc..
Vielen Dank.
That's just amazing. I wonder how fluid you draw curves and how straight are lines. is there any special practice to learn it or just by time you've learnt it? you know my hand writing is awful and most of it is because my circles aren't anything like a circle and I can't draw accurate straight lines when writing at normal speed.
First of all, nice work man!! I´m really into script, a bit more tattoo related, I also do mine first by hand then I trace on the PC, but I trace it based on circles and ovals (on the PC), making this a long process, my question is, how much do you charge?
Writing and flourishing with pointed pen and ink? Sure they did, over quite a long period (16th to 19th century). Some even do till this day ;) Regards. Frank
What type of stencil did you use for doing the angle of the letters? Is there a certain name for it?(The pink one ///////) I'm interested in buying one of those...
i was wondering do you do side work like calligraphy for logos and what not? im looking to have a logo done and would love to get it done soon for my brand.
If your only going to photo shop the end result why not just do it all on the computer? And don't say you can't do Calligraphy on the computer as I know for sure you can. That being said beautiful skill, concentration and technique.
Absolutely gorgeous video I was hoping to get a tattoo with this kind of hand writing in it do you think I could send you what I want in the tattoo and you could send it back to me all pretty and everything
I purchase my pens here: - kallipos.de/kalligraphie-shop.htm - kalligraphie.ch/24-0-Online-Shop.html If these sources doesn't work for you just google "J. Klaps Feder EF" (Carl Kuhn & Co. Vienna) or "Leonardt Principal EF" (D. Leonardt & Co. England) for supply in your area. Good luck! Frank
