@@-Teague- While I cannot relate to John in this instance, as a lead-footed speed demon, I appreciate that he sticks to the right lane so that we psychos may use the left.
I haven't watched the video yet so I'll be honest I'm super curious to see how Odin is involved Edit: Just finished the video, I'm always happy to see the inclusion of different pantheons. I, for one, would follow Odin!
Ok, but as a Heathen, I would like to point out that Odin does not say this in any attested source, nor does it fit his style. Thor, on the other hand...
Following Zeus makes as much sense as following any other god. And goats! Some people who live up the highway from us have quite a large heard of goats. They are so cute, especially the new kids. I could give them to a god, but I don't think I could sacrifice one to anyone. They are just too cute, plus they make great lawn mowers.
My brother, Pete, went up the wrong road for 30 minutes last night in Kansas driving back to Denver from the eclipse. I'm referring to his mistake as the Petour. The good news is his hour long mistake got us to Denver after rush hour this morning.
We *also* had a return from the eclipse detour! Driving from somewhere in Pennsylvania to somewhere else in Pennsylvania, took a wrong turn and ended up in Ohio
I can drive four hours and not even leave my state. And it's not even a particularly large state lol. I have to drive two hours just to see my best friend.
The Zeus voice had me cackling. I just realized I've been a nerdfighter for more of my life than I've not been and... this just makes me so irrationally happy. I cannot explain it. Thank you, Green Bros.
So I'm not saying that a few Indiana/Ohio nerdfighters with accessible ski masks and lots of spray paint Should repurpose a billboard to say "Zeus: Follow Him",, but that Could theoretically be in the realm of something possible to occur (/for legal purposes this is a joke p: )
@@IrisGlowingBlue They're just exercising their religious freedoms as followers of the very real neo-Zeusist sect that requires worshipping Zeus by painting on signs.
When he was young, my son said to me that his friends didn't understand how he could not believe in God. I said "Ask them if they believe in Zeus. When they say no, tell them it's just like that" He told me that was brilliant.
Even if you knew nothing else about them, John's comittment to covering Hank's face with a graphic in every reunion video would be enough to tell you they were brothers.
I caught the five minutes of the livestream where John took the wrong turn and it was wonderful. "I already feel guilty about it" "No, no, no, thats what im saying, it was a major mistake!" *Hank just laughing in the background* 😆
John being so midwestern in the way that he drives 👍 Us midwesterners appreciate competent drivers. Edited to add: I can’t tell you how often my partner (from Michigan) and I (from Illinois) agree on the correct way to drive and complain about all the drivers where we live (California) Honestly I lived in Tennessee for a hot second and I’m CONVINCED that in order to be a decent driver you need to learn to drive in a place where snow is a thing.
My life has become small and fairly miserable many days thanks to multiple sclerosis. You two bring me so much joy with the sibling vibe, the life long learning vibe and your huge hearts for humanity. 💖 I can never thank you enough or repay you. Seriously. Thank you for sharing your lives with us in this weird parasocial way. I don't know how I would have gotten through the worst flare and the last 18+ when my entire life was crumbling without binging Vlogbrothers and Complexly videos and feeling like a part of this Nerdfighteria tribe.
This is my vicarious recapture pleasure channel. I have really wanted this relationship with my brother since the 1970s. Examples like this are wonderful!
Your “gods” discussion reminded me of an incident at the University of South Dakota in the early 80s. Some one/group was writing “Think Jesus!” on the sidewalks all over campus. Another group (probably a frat) got tired of it and wrote “Think _____!” using the names of every god/goddess they could think of on virtually every section of sidewalk. For some reason, “Think Zarathustra!” Made me laugh the most.
wow did NOT expect the random Indigo Girls/Rax mashup when I clicked on this video. Absolutely fantastic (Galileo is my favorite song of theirs, as well).
"I don't think Zeus is going to be pleased with our impressions of him at all." *Zeus instantly smites you both into a goat for other mortals to sacrifice to lesser gods.*
As someone who is turning 30 this year and enjoys road tripping and traveling with my 25 year old brother more than anyone (other than alone) and has been told that it’s “weird,” thank you for the sibling fun travel time representation
After being a listener of the pod for years now and this being an on going thing it makes my heart happy for these foos to finally got to go to Rax lol 💗
As someone who has watched the entirety of multiple countries versions of Taskmaster, John and Hank would have been a much better choice than Reggie and Alex for the US version. And John is correct, he would be Taskmaster, and Hank would be the assistant. For people who haven't seen TM, the assistant is on set for every challenge, and contestants often utilize the assistant, so he has to be good humored and down for some odd bits. The original UK Taskmaster assistant is Alex Horne, who is the creator of the show. Being the assistant on TM is not a second fiddle position. Just don't want anyone unfamiliar to think it's some sort of insult.
I recognize that candle store on my way to Indy! I'd bet a few dollars that you two travelled to Dayton, Ohio for Rax. It's definitely worth the trip. kinda
I recognized it too! Warm Glow Candle in Centerville, IN right on I-70. It's worth visiting. It's not far from where I live. I haven't seen a Rax in over 20 years and honestly didn't know they still exist.
That fastball song was my Dad's favorite song as a kid. It took me too long to connect the dots that it was about parents who run away from their children.
I don’t think they really ran away from their children. The story I heard was there was dementia involved they originally planned to go to a fair that was nearby, and the driver who is the wife had dementia forgot where she was going and ended up a few states over in an area she had previously been on a trip to.
@@MonkeySeeMonkeySay TIL! The lyrics are about them making up their minds and leaving before the kids woke up as an exit to "eternal summer slacking", so it definitely indicated being a choice to leave them haha. But yeah, just read the Genius description about the original inspiration.
I'm a very basic person. I see VlogBrothers, I press like and comment. Loved seeing John on Objectivity ! I've been a fan of Brady's channels of nottingham since like 2010-2012. The first Cobalt video I seen and a nice chemistry teacher to talk about it. Love love love these channels with all my heart. SixtySymbols , DeepSkyVideos, I watched them all for over 10-14 years. So glad to finally see NileRed fans enjoy the works I enjoyed all these years.
