WhenI was young, wwe listened to songs on the radio, a song came on ,If Jesus came to your house, would you just let let him in , and give Him the very best you have, Or would y rush to find the bible and put afew things away, This song has stayed with me all my life , I will be 80 years this year. And that song, made me relise all the answers to life is that Bible, God's Love is so wonderful, that he sent His only Begotten Son to die for our sins, That you ever believe s in His son will have everlasting life, Chapter 3-16 in John, it is written in the Bible, we can repent and read the Bible it will tell you how to be, happy, peacful , Loveing, And lead you through what is going on the world, So keep that Book , the Greatest Book, The BIBLE, read every day ,and don't let lay and gather dust. AMEN

@@RIPDixie1865 I've known people who professed strong faith in Jesus Christ but had never read the Bible. For most of the Christian faith's existence, nearly 2000 years, most believers were illiterate or nearly so and did not read the book, they just had some of it read to them. For me, reading the Bible didn't result in faith as i had expected but in doubts that, unlike the doubt of Doubting Thomas, were not satisfied by any real proof.

When I was child we a gospel album Kitty Wells put out it had the hymn dust on the Bible kitty had a beautiful voice. The Old time county music artists took the time to Honor the Lord they did this right on through HEE HAW .

I bow my head,,,I'm christian, but not a church goer,, and I don't even know where my bible went to...Guess I don't have one...I believe in God, and do write by people and try to be a good person.. Amen brother. It seems that they don't want to teach the past History anymore. More than once in my life I have wanted to hit teenagers up the side of the head with a Good Book. We have a sorrowful society that is getting worse by the day.

Who knows? Maybe, if i just hadn't read or skimmed through the Bible in church so much from an early age and had instead just believed and not questioned what some human beings said i should believe, i wouldn't be an atheist, although an atheist is what i was born as, one without belief in god.
Hey Friend...you were never born to be an atheist. Church is where you will find the devil is busiest...using people who allow him control over them to discourage others. I am not sure who were stumbling blocks in your way then or what they did, BUT I am sure that Jesus's arms of love is open wide and just waiting for you to fall in. I believe the very fact that you took time to comment here says that you want more...not just to be an atheist. Look around, think back on your life and I know you will see evidence of God. Farmer Fitz, you are trusting in yourself for salvation. You may believe in God but not Jesus the Son of God who obey the Father perfectly and died for your sins so that you may have eternal life. You may want to find that bible and read the book of Romans. That will give you a good idea on where you currently stand if you were to die in the next hour. Turn your eyes upon Jesus for he is the only way. Wide is the gate that leads to destruction and Narrow is the gate that leads to eternal life. Jesus is the Narrow way. Repent and Trust in Jesus and be Saved.

I think that is very very prideful for you to say "is it his fault that God stuck him in the middle of nowhere". Read the book of Job and see if that is fair. You'll have a different appreciation for the comment you just made. Remember, God is Sovereign, he can do all his Holy Will.

Whereas, you attach some supernatural significance to its existence. This business of ‘securing my own salvation’ is yet another piece cockeyed reasoning; and given that you are no more in a position to state that your side of the argument is anymore valid than mine, it does strike me as a being little condescending to expect me, and not yourself, to provide a reasoned position. The book they ended up with was picked and chosen by a council of mortal Catholic men from dozens of various random manuscripts. These MEN chose what they considered the "true word of God" and endeavored to destroy the rest. You're supposed to worship Christ, not a book, which was written by fallible human hands.

Which if you look at the books in the bible they are fairly accurate with accounts and writings daring back to just a few hundred years after Jesus death and resurrection. On the contrary we can only find writing of Platos going back as early as 500 years.

The flesh that it is referring to is Immanuel, Christ Jesus. Immanuel means God with us.

Joesph, Mary, Mary Magdoline(who is now thought by some to have actually been the wife of Jesus, but it was kept a secret for her safety) but that's a whole different debate...... I believe in the real religion, not the words that come from corrupt church organizations that have been responsible for many atrocities that go directly against the 10 commandments... And I have played baseball, and yes sometime I played without a glove...Learned to cup my hands to catch it so it don't hurt to much(that's what separates the men from the boys...;)....)....
