I was born in 1951, so I never had the chance to see him in person, but I have listened to him for most or my 70 years. I sang his songs out loud in my youth and love being able to hear him whenever I want to
I grew up on this music my Daddy drank a lot when I was young and this is what he played when he came home drunk R.I.P. Dad I still listen to the same music you did.. George Jones,Charlie Pride,Hank Jr,Loretta Lynn, and the list goes on...R.I.P. Mr Williams your music will live on forever as your son said in Standing In The Shadows..
might I suggest that you try looking up the country music from Newfoundland I think you will find some of the good of country music being preformed by there country artist
Back in 2007 (i was 19), I visited my brother in South Carolina when he was living with his, then, wife's family. My brother's father-in-law sat me down in the old southern fashion and gave me a 5 hour lecture on country music, real country music. Came back to Los Angeles with a whole new knowledge of music that, at that time, radio nor tv will ever show me. RIP Terry...because of you, i listen to this legend to this day🍻
i was born in 1984,but thank god that my dad saw in his awesome wisdom to lay the hank on me.which inspired me to pick up the guitar at 9 yrs old,and i haven't put it down yet.thanks dad......and hank
March 2022 I am still listening to Hank SR ,My 19 year old son in the US Army was raised on Hank and still listening to real country music. Also my 6 and 2 year olds have been listening to Hank SR.When Hank comes on they stop and look like they are in awe...
Hank as far as im concerned is the greatest singer to ever walk this earth--I also consider Merle Haggard to be the 2nd best to ever walk this earth. Now this is my opinon only--I am 76 years old--I have seen them all come and go--But Hank is more popular than ever--ty
I visit Hank and Mrs. Audrey quiet often I live 10 minutes from the cemetary, I like to take my old guitar and do a few songs with them, I've been told that is so stupid but I enjoy the visits, yes that's one man I wish that I could have met. RIP my friend.
Hank Williams is one of my favorite singer song writers I have every album he made Im 37 now I was born in the wrong generation cause Hank is what country music should be I think
I’ve listened to this? Man? Who has made many days of my life , well it’s hard for me to put into words! As a child, listening to Hanks music? Then I was sent to Vietnam? And many times as I sit in my D7 , cutting the jungle down in a country 10 thousand miles from home! I’d sing Hanks songs to take my. Mind from the next snipers round That may take my life? Hank is the Best
I grew up around a Vetnam heavy equipment operator and he said the thing . Thank you for all you and family have given so i can be free to listen to this Beautiful Music.
Its a shame some people has to use this type of language on a puplic post board.. YES, there are a lot of us old people who loves this kind of music. RIP Hank.
Ron, sometimes you have to get their attention, Life is not golden and if language offends you or you are To prude to except reality then you are an old fuck! I appreciate honesty as long as it's honest, I don't give a fuck! if you are prude and cant handle reality! Life is not perfect, life actually sucks! Wow! just realized Ronny boy died years past. Peace and blessings.
@QuibloGamingStudios I'm 18 and not even originally from the US and I love this kind of music! I hate the new pop sounding country that is popular however these old artists like Hank Williams, Woody Guthrie, Roger Miller, etc. that actually would sing with passion they are truly amazing
It's Amazing how a young talented singer can have this much affect on people..To this day I might add..He was that great and no ONE will ever be better than him..He singed from the Heart we can relate too..Thank You Hank..One day I hope to hear you in person in that Great place above the Clouds..
@@neilhack6749 Yes I miss it Neil, Today's country is a Insult to the Country music Industry..Nashville isn't country anymore..It's a town that will let rock and roll in the Ryman..
I believe that he loved the average person. I think that he saw people everyday and sympathized with their struggles. He felt and knew pain but he didn't stop there, he saw it in a million other faces and maybe felt like he could be proof that someone who doesn't know you could be on your side.
The greatest Country music and writer that ever lived. This song is from his Luke the Drifter Album. It is so true and very sad like many of his great songs. I love this song and have listened to it for a lot of years. Hard to beat but anything Hank did would be hard or impossible to beat. The best is just the best.
To me Hank Williams is one of the best ever lived a song from the heart a song about life have you met people that wasn't even born in his time today here in this music understand something that they missed out on I'm so sorry to Hank died so young he had much more to give us an offer God bless you honey thank you for being here I was well blessed that I was born into time to hear you keep on doing what you do best hunt God bless Charles charleswood wood from Macon Georgia Macon Georgia
A great writer and a Savior of Music too broken and busted men, whom life let drift without hope Come Too JESUS CHRIST all whom Suffer.. Daniel Richards Springfield Illinois
I guess you can say i undersytand how Hank feels, i definitly know how Hank Jr feels being that my Dad was a very well respected and loved outlaw. I took a lot of hell sharing his name! been busted for things i never did! and had some great praises just for being his son. I know how it feels for people to say "I sure hope you are like your daddy when you grow up" and others say with hatred in their voice "your gonna be just like your daddy" In loving memory Michael Lee McKemy (aka) Scutter.
How was he able to do so much in such a Sadly short career? This is absolutely the most beautiful song to see what i have seen in the clouds lately. It really is sad. I believe there are several undertones in this. Like the stuff that goes on in the upper class elite circles. Like nazzi pedophilia cloning programs incest etc. And how the people with more money never have happiness.
Luke The Drifter is pure poetry. When Hank was sober he was a one of a kind artist. Alas, he was afflicted with addiction and it ruined him. His run was brilliant, troubled, and short. His legend and legacy has only continued to grow since his death.
Let me leave my comment here that it may go down on record. Monari loved Hank Williams, no question. I hope to meet Hank that morning when I get before my master's bouquet 💐.
hello hank williams channel I am the first fan of hank williams sr South American from Cali Valle del Cauca in Colombia my name is JAIRO ANDRES and I am 23 years old
I knew I was gunna break down and it didnt take long .. theres always at least one verse that speaks right to me like my grandpa giving me shit, but saying it's ok
+John Nunn The good die young, don't they. The one artist that is within comparison(as far as how good the music is; stylistically it's hard to be more different) of Hank Williams that didn't die young is Johnny Cash. Jimmie Rodgers is the other one within comparison, and he died when he was 35 years old in 1933(from Tuberculosis). Jimmie Rodgers and Hank Williams both had 6 year recording careers ending in their death(Jimmie Rodgers from 1927 through 1933; Hank Williams mid 1946 through New Year's day 1953)
John Nunn because he was great don't u he couldnt be an addict to. He was on morphine and a sedatives and alcohol with that cocktail he had a heart attack. Such a shame with a great voice and previsions. I would give bout anything in this world 2 have been able 2 meet him great singer n songwriter
Justin Bester Hank was only in country music from 1948 to New Year's Eve 1952. They list it as New Year's Day but it takes a little while for Rigamortis to set in so. But u can Google it n see I did other night cause I wanted to see how many song Hank write n in all it was 167 songs he wrote not counting the 1s Jr found in attic. Sorry but with lung and throat cancer I have only time 4 treatments n looking up stuff n like Hank ask waiting for angel of death but thank u for letting me share n God Bless y'all even it's 2 late 4 me I still believe in my Lord and Savior Jesus
He didn''t, it's a traditional song written at the end of the 19th century, Woody Guthrie did also his version in the 40's i guess, he just wrote the part of the last picture of the soldier in Korea. Hank absolutely nailed it with his interpretation, his heartful voice it's perfect for this little gem of compassion and brotherhood and he didn't even sing except for the chorus just one time, mesmerizing to say the least. This recording in particular is pure gold, i much prefer this live version to the studio one in 1952 for the Luke the Drifter LP.
"This song was written in 1895...Don't you know that??" "Thats 57,,,56 yrs ago aint it!""" Making this recording from 1951... Wow talk about a paradox..Even more staggering is its now 2016 making the 51 version to the present older than Hanks reference of the 1895 year the song was written! Boggles the mind!!!
