"There are 3 things you can do with money. What are they?" "Spend it, save it, invest it." "You know what you can also do? You can gamble that shit". -Hannibal to his brother's kids.
That special was so genius and I can never find it again. But he kept saying he didn’t do drugs but hinting that he did. And then at the end he basically admits he does tons of drugs.
*Joe Rogan speaking with a recovering addict* Addict: Yea I was addicted to heroine for a while and I’m doing my best to recover from it. Joe: I was addicted to quake, you just gotta stop cold turkey man.
@@scottyd2262 dry snitchin for sure. the feds now have probable cause to look into his paypal transactions and see exactly who his bookie was - at least thats what my JD from Dick Wolf School of Law tells me.
Yea I had a drinking and gambling problem, Joe: yea I feel you man I couldn’t stop playing video games. Homie playing ufc listening to himself announce.
A friend of mine is a total degenerate. He says putting the bet in is like sticking the needle in his arm, when the game starts, it’s like pushing the plunger down.
As an former addict of harder substance, as a Current user of more mild substance, and a Dual Diagnosis peer suppirt specialist from RENO NV, Casino City..... As someone with the experience of a gambler, user and recovery advocate in 2 different drug recovery homes.... What you are saying is inaccurate and irresponsible.
@@ellllllo77 That bookie had a heart. When u tell a man "you'll get touched" that a whole different situation. He might just take more than the 90k 🧠👈🏼
Difference was he actually paid the 90K on PayPal just not in cash exactly like the bookie wanted. He didn't just run off without paying like some other lives.
Samuelson baker Are you high dude? The best film of 2020 so far. So intense and realistic, the dialogue and use of first time actors blending with veteran actors was brilliant. Especially if you’ve had a gambling problem in your life before, sandler’s character is so relatable. I thought it was brilliant.
@@codybolo7803 are you that dumb? 100k is alot of money to rogan just because you have a lot of money doesnt mean that a you start to act like money isnt worth something
It always makes me laugh. "I can relate, I was addicted to videogames." I know people can be fully addicted to gaming, I just get the feeling Rogan only loves them. Most of us who love them give in and play. Rogan makes podcasts. You can't argue with him. Even if it sounds a little upper class.
@@Silmerano the dopamine release it triggers is like nothing else. Get you a killing spree or a triple kill in a crazy match...you'll be on cloud 9 for about 5 min
I used to love it, would start out with 400-1000 and see how far I could take it. That was always my demise though lol my best was starting with 400 and ending up with 7000 9 days later. Then lost it all on one houston rockets game when harden, westbrook, and capala were all sitting out and they still somehow pulled out the win, came out and set like record number 3's lol...I was salty about that for a couple months..lol...
I know what you mean. I was playing pass the pigs and I lost all my points on my 11th role once. My mom got annoyed and told me I need to “make wiser decisions.”
Gambling is no joke. You crave the dopamine rush and it becomes more about that than winning or losing. It can really take a hold on you if you’re not very careful.
I got over my gambling addiction by doing research and actually understanding how gambling works and until you can grasp your brain around the fact that it’s a system rigged for the long term gambler to lose the longer you gamble the more likely you are to lose
I was addicted to eating lettuce for a while. Sounds strange but it's like there was a voice telling me "You gotta eat the lettuce. Just eat it." Very scary time for me
I like how he explained that it just eats up all your time. I used to play poker live and online for almost 2 years. Ran through my $ but also just snapped to the fact that I was wasting all my time being unproductive.
@@matthalstead7933 People that have never faced addiction always go "ohh just quit cold turkey its that simple" its not that simple addiction can get so severe that it can literally override any rational thought to fullfill itself.
That's entirely subjective. People waste their whole lives working jobs in socially constructed environments or start families to give their life some sort of purpose.
He is absolutely right equating investments to gambling. Not enough retail investors put in the work. "Apple never goes down, durrrr. What's a breakdown candle high? Duuuuuuurrrrrr!!!"
Out of all the conversations Joe has had on the show, I might relate to this one the most. Being on a winning streak no matter sports or at the table the high is unmatched. But the lows...they hurt you in a different kinda way. It's like the lows become more addicting than the highs
Because there is no limit to how high we can go , we can go so low, then die. That's why we're more sensitive to the adversity to losing than for the proclivity towards winning. Winning could theoretically continue forever, losing will inevitably result in the ultimate loss
Watched a lady hit $17,000 on slots at the casino and not bat an eye, it all went back into the machines because the next pot was going to be bigger. Crazy
If you're putting up $5 large a game on the honor system, that's like AmEx telling you, "sure, live it up! Just pay us back later!" Gambling is one vice that I don't encourage anyone to pursue. You are always going to lose in the long run.
I Gamble on occasion and just recently overcame a very real very serious addiction to Skill Gaming. I honestly think Dopamine and Neurological factors play a definite part in it. As much as i like to Gamble alone,i fair better when I have someone tapping me on the shoulder when it's time to go
The texting like he explains is pretty much how most real world bookies operate.. It isn't like Uncut Gems or a Scorcese movie where you discretely meet face to face or go to a payphone to call it in, lol..
