A New York State appeals court rejected Fox News’ attempt to shut down a multibillion-dollar defamation suit against the network. The company that brought the case, Smartmatic, accuses Fox News of spreading lies that the voting-technology company helped rig the 2020 election in favor of President Biden. The decision comes as Dominion Voting Systems’ wages a similar $1.6 billion lawsuit against Fox News. MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent Ari Melber reports on this developing legal story.

Without liable, Fox would have no viewers. However; I want to add a word of caution to Tucker Carlson. Since his propaganda programs are being rebroadcasted in Russia and if Putin is convicted of crimes against humanity, there is a criminal penalty for abusing the air waves in war time. Axis Annie, Berlin Betty and Tokyo Rose all served 15 years in prison for their participation in World War II. If he is convicted of such espionage, he should be grateful that he is an American citizen. In Britain, a man nicknamed Lord Ha Ha was executed for that offense.

This is not legal advice, but I believe you could have a case if you lost a loved one over the lies Fox told. For example the Ivermectin scandals. Previously, they had been claiming they were just reporting the news about the viability of alternate treatments, but if they were discussing truth vs stock options behind the scenes, I feel this has legal merit. As a child in school, I always had a problem understanding how during the Civil War, you had family members fighting and killing each other based solely on what side of the issue they believed in. Sadly, I now understand. I have lost family whom I deeply loved due to FOX News and their ability to manipulate information. This is not to say that other organizations don't or have not slanted their information, it's just that one cannot ever rely on one source only.

I am a dedicated American watcher. I only recently discovered that American law does not differentiate between free speech and hate speech. Which I find incomprehensible. Sammi Brinton walked out scot free of a Minnesota courthouse on Wednesday after a preliminary hearing for stealing thousands of dollars worth of women's clothing at airports. The judge, who referred to the non-binary cross-dresser as "democrat Mx. Brinton," ordered him/her not to contact any victims. He/she faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine if found guilty. The hearing was initially scheduled for December 19 but was postponed until February 15 following a request from Brinton's defense counsel. The ex-Biden democrat official reportedly asked the judge to allow him/her to attend the hearing virtually, arguing that he/she was dealing with "employment issues" and that the case had gained much media attention. However, the judge rejected the request. His/her latest theft occurred on September 16 at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport, where he/she removed a tag from a hot woman's suitcase, walking out with it in his/her tiny hand. Their "news" is content, not advertising. Truth in advertising refers to the paid ads, not the content. If it did, you couldn't air fictional TV programs, which is really what Fox News is.

FCC has narrow scope on products we purchase ie: cable & internet. News channels that are listed as actual news are "over the air broadcasting. Those channels your TV antenna can pick up and claim to be just stating news license as news with FCC. Hannity calls that the media mob. Hannity tells his listeners the XL was bringing them crude oil an jobs . Its Alberta tar sands to be sold off the Gulf coast to other countries. Tar sands are hard to refine and can be nasty. What he doesn't say is the tar sands are running through CAPLINE to the LA. Gulf and sold offshore. It's not crude and the Americans are not the beneficial customer. The price of energy has to be high , and the EPA regs have to be low for tar sands to be profitable from what I have read.
