Thank you for digging into this. My first not-so-Happi-jac 4160 quit working at two years old, but luckily, Amazon still had one available. Now, the second 4160 on my 2018 Bigfoot camper has failed, and now I can't find this discontinued motor. Needless to say, I'm not pleased at all with Happijac, but thanks to your video, I may try fixing mine.
I also have a lance RV. One of the jacks didn’t work. I sent it to the manufacturer for repairs and didn’t test it, so I changed it for $1,000. I took the replaced motor back, disassembled and cleaned it according to your method, and it was fine. I saw it earlier. You could save $1,000 on your video. Thanks for more good content!
Just a little hasty taking the outer casing off. I just did mine and it had a rusty armature and stator as well, nothing is un-fixable! If man built it man can repair it.
Check the basics, fuse, power at the motor. If you have power at the motor it will more then likely need some love. Try lightly tapping the motor casing with a hammer, if the bushes are jammed it may get them to move
Forgot to say.... The hole in the bottom of the white case was blocked on mine, I now put a cocktail stick into it every once in a while to get any moisture (condensation?) out. Once again many thanks.
@@3mcgarage544 I know the temptation is to rip the casing apart, but in my case I have no spare motor. Actually servicing it for a friend. What about the end bearing? Can I just shoot some grease in the hole and consider it done? Good to see men working on trying to fix things in our throw away world, self-reliance all the way! VM
