I had assumed that the horror would be that Little Manly would turn out to be some sort of monster, when it turns out its actually the horror of having to say goodbye to a beloved friend.

**Manly when he's dealing with an animal in the game**: "Aww, come here, have a snack, sweety!" **Manly When he's dealing with a baby in the game** : [Puts him inside the stove].

With the word “Adorable” in the title I’m ready for this to turn into a horror game EDIT: I’m emotionally devastated wtf

Feeling choked up while Manly goes "You remember how we used to eat the EGG." threw me into an emotional whiplash.

This may only end one way, but a little bit of wholesome fanfic writing goes a long way

the part where you're saying goodbye and the fact that you have the choice to choose your final words to your pet, I couldn't help but think about my cat who died very young, very painfully- and I think that this game gives pet owners who are grieving a chance to say goodbye again, whether that was the developers intent or not, and it just makes this short, simple game so heartbreakingly beautiful.

3:33 "you wanna play with your little meat?" Now that's a very forward question there, Manly.

That ending got me. A few years back I lost my dog, his name was Yogi. A lot of stuff had happened in a short time and we completely missed that he had gotten bit by a rattlesnake until it was too late for antivenom. The next few days were hard, it was possible for him to recover but he just kept getting worse. Finally we brought him to the vet and I was forced to hand him over to a person he didn't know while I filled out the paperwork. I finish and I'm shown to a room only for a vet to walk in moments later and tell me that he passed. It breaks my heart knowing that he died confused, scared, and surrounded by strangers. I never got the chance to say goodbye.

God, as someone with a pet who's on his last few days here on Earth, that ending hits hard.

Wasn't expecting that to hit so hard... Just makes me think of pets of days past.

At about the 10:00 mark, I asked myself "Why am I still watching this? I know how it ends." And it did. Even knowing the ending it still hit hard. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to go play with my dog.

This hit hard. The first time I watched it, I was like “Oh yeah, this is sad. I feel bad for the people who had to go through this.” Two days later, I have to put my cat down. I decided to rewatch the video and the final words Manly chose to say to Little Manly broke my heart, I would’ve said those words to my cat too. I bawled for a good 5 minutes before watching some kracc bacc. I’m kinda trying to deny the fact that my cat is dead, but other than that I’m fine.

"Raise this adorable creature till something happens." Oh....oh no, please I can't handle that, that's scarier than any horror game!

This actually had me crying. Poor, sweet little baby... I want a plush of him now so he can live forever.

I think that the heart at the end was so much more effective than a straightforward cutscene. This brought back memories of losing some of my pets.

That was a short let's play but still made me cry... especially when he said "I hated seeing you so scared"

This was real empathetic for those who have lost any animal in their life... got an Oof right in the heart briefly.

Okay, I'll be honest: I did actually shed a tear at the end. Being a pet owner, especially if you’ve lost pets before, makes it hit even closer to home. The creatures are adorable, RIP Little Manly.

The saddest part of this to me is that the pet seemed to be the only family/friend the owner had.

This does count as horror, it's the horror of having to say goodbye

This opens up old wounds of the cat I had growing up. 16 years of the little bugger, got to know her the day she was born in my grannys garage. While sad she was starting to lose her ability to get around and hardly eating. Better to remember the good times then the bad though, If you only focus on your pets last moments they will never truly pass on. Been 2 years since she was put down but I still think shes with me to some degree even it she isn't here physically...

I thought about this a lot and I think the saddest part is actually the photo album telling the story. It starts off and you have pictures of picking out a toy at the pet store, baths and walks. Any activity you witness with them is worth photographing and keeping a record of. You even frame those old photos and cover a wall in them. On the other hand, the right hand side of the album is just birthdays and Christmases repeating uninterrupted. You have forgotten or become numb to how great and unique they are and take the picture more because it is a special occasion than because you’re paying special attention to them. Living with them is routine now and you only spare it a thought when something has gone wrong. You even nearly forget to give them their medicine. When you look back, over the course of the game, you don’t even have memories of that period of their lives, it just jumps ahead to a renovated house and the final scene. You couldn’t think a single moment that stood out in a period of years that led up to today!

I cried like a baby for almost half of the video, the little buddy reminds me of my recently passed elderly dog. I loved her so much, and I knew she was already pretty old, but I tought that she would die of old age, not by the illness that killed her. She had already been ill with the same thing once, but made it trought, however this illness got worse when she had it again. Atleast she got to rest her old, fragile body. Still I'll always cry for her every once in a while.

I'm always afraid of getting a heart attack when I see Manly's horror game videos But this was worse... now my heart is broken, and empty.

As someone who recently lost their senior dog of many years, his name was Buddy of all things too, this hit really close to home, as it did for many others too I’m sure. Very sweet game if a little bittersweet.

They really did made the pets as cute as possible. Jesus, I knew the ending was going to hit.

I was expecting a horror twist all throughout and was practically begging for one at the end. This game is so cute and sad. I love how the house changes to show time passing.

It's 2am and I'm crying over a round little duck billed creature 😭. It was too real with Manly's absolute joy being with Little Manly. For anyone who's had to say goodbye to a pet, it's sadly perfectly accurate 😔

I honestly didn't expect the ending, seeing "ADORABLE" creatures sorta raises my alarm when they turns out to be some sort of eldritch creature that's gonna maul your face off and eat your soul.

I was expecting a horror game, but instead my heart melted. I'm not mad, I enjoyed watching this playthrough. It's sad but real, life happens and things end. Life ends. And that's okay. To those who have recently or just lost something important in general, you will be okay. Cherish the memories you had, you do not deserve to have your wounds held open, let them heal. ♥️

That's probably the most painful 'goodbye' I've seen from a game. Very true to life.

i got my cat velvet when i was around 9. I picked him because he climbed the highest up the chain door at the rescue and it made me laugh. I called him Velvet because he was soft and dark Velvet carried me through my parents divorce, changing of schools and subsequent bullying, an emotionally abusive step father and a chronic illness from age 15. He accompanied me through all of it until the day after my 21st, where he peacefully passed away after a few months of stomach tumors making him slower and creakier with every passing day. I had to hold him so gently whenever i was able to visit, and he always purred so loudly It'll be almost four years since then and regularly I'll suddenly want to hold him and cuddle him as he grumbles like an old man, but still leans into the pats. Watch him tap his water dish before drinking every time because of the one time when he was a kitten where it froze and he licked the ice. Hear him snoring like an old man in the corner of my room and scare the shit out of me at 2am Miss you Velvi, you absolute brat who swiped at ankles and clawed up the carpet in front of my room because you couldnt stand that I shut the door. I'll never stop wishing I'd been able to stay with you all those months, you deserved that much It always hurts to lose them, but I'll never regret having known and loved them in the meantime

I like the generic look of the pet because you can interpret it as any animal you can relate to, even if the behaviors are like a dog, people who have lost cats or other animals can relate too since it isn’t portrayed as anything specific. My rabbit who I’ve had since I was 11 (in my 20s now) is likely on his last year and I’m in a similar situation. Luckily he is still active and eating but I go through all my memories with him all the time and just spend as much time with him as I can

Holy shit this hit close to home as a rescuer volunteer. I know along the way I should not allow myself to love them strongly as my own because the inevitable goodbye might come at any day. But saying **that** goodbye for the **last time** ever... I can't even explain it. I will always carry in my heart the little ones that couldn't make it, and cherish forever the ones that had their lives changed thanks to the people that decide to adopt. Really simple game, but a good message. Liked it a lot ♡

The heart beat stopping really got me. My late pet Oscar was ill and had to be put down. I was hugging him and could hear his heart beat. I was the one that told them I was ready and I listened to his heart stop. It takes your breath away and it makes me cry every time I’m reminded of that moment. Been 7 years since he’s past and I still miss him.

thanks I hate it I don't normally cry about stuff like this, but I just bawled my eyes out. When it got to the part of giving your buddy meds, I lost it. My partner and mine's pup passed away almost a year ago. She was old, in pain, had morning and evening meds, went through many surgeries. Stuff like this just really gets to me now.

I wasn't prepared for that ending. It reminded me too much of having to let go of my own pets.

This game utterly destroyed me when I first saw it. I love this little guy so much and knowing what happens to him tears my heart into. I am not exaggerating when I say that everytime I think of thjs game I tear up and want to cry.

The ending hurts, but it is an experience that every pet owner has to go through. I'm not looking forward to the day I have to say goodbye to one of my cats, but it will only hurt because of all the good times we shared together. I try to remember that I should appreciate them as best I can while they're alive, so I have memories to look back on, and happy stories to tell others after their time is up. Grief is the price of love. Many of us will experience loss of pets, family, friends, and lovers during our lives, and nothing can prepare you for that pain. But for me, remembering that I'm hurting because of all the happiness that relationship brought me brings a bit of comfort. Also helps to know that it is a universal experience, and we aren't alone in our suffering.

I like the sub-genre of horror games which is just "raising a weird little creature until something goes wrong." Something so charming about it!

Man, I expected the dogcreature would turn into a monster, not that I would be crying by the end as it's a testament to saying goodbye to elderly pets.

My brother brought home our dog, Zena, from his friend's house where she wasn't treated all that well. She was an unexpected joy to have around, and brought us her love and companionship. She was always there when you needed someone, and more than happy to give us lots and lots of kisses. She was such a goofball too. Always laying down in such silly and amusing ways. We've had her for over 10 years, up until October 5th, 2021. She passed away in my arms, right after I was done giving her a bath - one of her most favorite things to do. I feel a lot of regret and remorse that I did not give her one last car ride, another one of her favorite activities, at least she held out for that bath. Originally I had planned to build a coffin for her, and bury her in our back yard, but I instead opted to have her cremated and her ashes put in a box. I'm very glad I did this instead. She now rests above her favorite spot in the house, on a shelf above the fireplace. There's a shadowbox with her paw print to her left, with a collage picture frame filled with beautiful pictures of our warrior princess to the right. I still say good morning/good night to her and talk to her a little bit each day. I plan to continue doing so until we meet again. Even though now she is gone, and I sit, crying, here in solitude in this lonely box called a home - I still smile. While there are tears of sadness, sorrow, and pain of her passing, I yet shed tears of happiness from the fond memories that we made together. I know I wasn't the best owner, and I could have done better in many areas, I take solace in knowing that she had a good life here. She had a much better one had she not been brought to us, and for that, I am thankful. I miss her dearly, as the wounds are still fresh, but they continue to slowly heal with time. I will never forget her. I will keep her memory alive and strong in my heart, for that is the best way that I believe I can repay her kindness for her time with me. I love you, Zena. Good night, sweet princess. ~~~~~~~ Thank you, Manly.

i used to call my dog my old geezer too. he suddenly died in my arms last friday, and ive been devastated over it. i still see him ariund the house and break down crying almost on the hour. this hit close to home.

Having that final dialogue at the bottom when you're going through what to say to them hurt so bad because you know eventually, you have to say it.

Well, I'm glad there wasn't a horror twist anywhere in here. It started cute, and ended up something sad but still handled quite well. All the little photos helped sell the bond despite the short runtime.

You know, This made me cry, For me this reminds me of my deceased of my cat spook. it reminds me of him so much. It's such a beautiful done cam to crate such emotion My cat spooky was more of a dog then a cat and to this day I still missed him. He ended up dieing in my arms he wanted to be with me for one more time so He came to me before passing on. He laid on my lap and that when he started to slowly become more weak and lifeless and I cried so much. It still hurts to tell this but I figured I leave this hear as a bit of hope. To those who lost a pet dog, or cat or ANY animal it ok to feel sad because that just showed that you really cared for them and you charised the memories you had with them good or bad.

I saw the ending coming a mile away but it still managed to make me tear up, mainly because the little creature kinda reminds of an old dog i have right now. Her name is daisy and we've had her since she was a puppy (i was around 6 at the time i think)

I've had to go through this horror four times already. Two dogs and two cats, all of them still very near and dear to my heart. The feeling of being utterly powerless to do anything other than letting them go leaves scars that never heal, and it never gets any easier no matter how many times you go through it. All you can do is remember the good times, the days when they were still full of energy, all the happy moments you had together and the silly habits your friend had. I'm sure the creator of this game put a lot of their own experience into it. The love and pain of remembering their old friend is certainly present.

Recognizing that frustration, that universal feeling like putting your head through the wall, was perfect. Another moment when Manly hits it out of the park. Makes a silly moment poignant. Which is why his ever growing fan base loves him. Great job on this little gem.

Oh god, I didn't need that T.T I have a 15 years old dog, she'll be turning 16 in 3 months. She no longer has good eyes, hearing and smell, she was diagnosed with heart problems and now on medication till the very end. She's still happy and cheerful dog, a bit more sleepy at that, but I dread a time when she no longer be with us. I hope she will live her full 25.

This reminded me a lot of the dog I had as a kid... He was dying of cancer His name was Buddy and he was my best friend in the whole world

Oh man that hit hard. We had to let our old girl go a couple years ago and this just brought all those emotions back. But watching this was kinda cathartic too, helped me remember that she had a good long life, and that there was so much more to the time we got to spend with her than just the painful last few memories of saying goodbye.

Scrolling through just a few comments and seeing tales of peoples' grief over their pets.... it warms my heart. I know that sounds wrong, but I'm saying, it's wonderful that all these pets were so thoroughly loved. I have lost 3 cats in my life so far. We have two now and admittedly I'm a bit worried, they're getting along in years, but it's important to love them while we can rather than anticipate the inevitable.

Ah depression you've returned I see. This brings back memories of a tortoise that's been in my family since my father's youth. Mfs got long lives but once it's been around for two generations its close to curtain time. Marco was around long before I was born and had survived the family moving through five different houses in three different states. Not just me but my dad who essentially was there for Marco since day 1 was absolutely devastated.

I love that you play all these games. I like to check out the games myself first and then watch you play them. I thought this was going to be a horror game!!! I cried

I'm a long time away from saying goodbye to my dog, but I know that, eventually, the time will come. This game actually made me cry just thinking about it. I just love her so much, this was a nice reminder to make sure that she's happy and to enjoy every moment I'm so very fortunate to spend with her.

god as someone who's lost pets before this hits hard :( you always know your pet isnt gonna live forever and youre gonna lose them one day, so all you can do is just spend time with them and make them happy while you still have them

Ive had to let go of quite a few pets in my short life so far, two of the hardest were ones i never got a chance to say goodbye to. I never wish for anyone to go through that. This hurt my soul. It sometimes makes you question if getting another is worth the pain at the end, but you know it is, because that animal gets its whole life filled with happiness and care and all things sweet and wonderful and thats how every pet deserves to live; surrounded by love, and if you want it done right you gotta do it yourself.

I've been putting off watching this video since it first got uploaded three months ago because I just know how it would end I finally watched it in full and I was hugging my fairly old dog throughout, I'm absolutely bawling while typing this. My dog's still happy and healthy but I don't think I can handle losing her eventually

I... this just hit too hard. Way harder than any horror game I've seen lately. It destroyed my soul. The horror was having to say goodbye. It never gets easier. I miss my little guys. My heart hurts so much.

I think what hit me hardest about this game is that the owner (the player) loves their pet so much. Their home is covered in photos of them throughout their life, they sit with them during the storm, they know their favorite food etc. This little creature is every bit a part of them, so it really does show how hard it hits when we lose a companion even if it's for the best.

You can tell that manly gets attached really fast…

Of all the painful horrors we've seen Manly face, this one hurt the most.

I was expecting it to grow into a MONSTER but was pleasantly depressed.

my dog died a couple of months ago after 14 years together... she got to old age without getting sick once and then all of a sudden she got so much worse all at once, so this game definitely started hitting hard when little manly stopped greeting you at the door and then started leaving food untouched... i miss her everyday it's like i can feel a void where she always used to be. love you ghianda.

Did not expect this to hit me goddangit! I went and hug my pet dog after watching this and I do not like how this playthrough got recommended to me at the same day my dog almost got hit by a motorcycle, I do not wanna think much about it honestly. This game is nice tho, the buddy design is cute, he's like a lemon

That part at the end really hit home with what it's like saying goodbye to a pet, made me cry because I've gone through it twice and very likely will again in the future

The ending hit me hard, I experienced terrible pain more than once, but I'm glad to know that they won't have to suffer no longer.
