⚠️Flash warning! Fan animation for Reigen's birthday :D The Geddan meme was dying off in Japan around 2009, the time when Mob became Reigen's student. It's an old meme but I hope some of you know it.

That was exactly the idea! If you also noticed, I tried to put it in the video format that was commonly used at the time, too. It's hard to tell since Reigen looks the same, but at least Mob looked VERY different at the time lol

the weird thing is that reigen's body just does that sometimes Also its so funny, i was five in 2009 but i found out about the geddan meme a couple weeks ago and every now and then i get a recommendation for a 10 year old geddan video and i though this would be the same but. no. Beautiful work!!!

I have seen the geddan meme in its prime time on Nico Nico and this video really gives me the nostalgia. Man, I feel so old lol. Reigen and Mob would definitely do this. They are so cute! Thank you ^^ I now wish I was able to experience it during its hype. You all make it sound so fun! I rode the wave of Harlem Shake and Gangnam Style, but I don't recall geddan for some reason. I only knew about this meme a few weeks before making the animation.

Oh my gosh this is so gooood!!!!! Really fits reigen and honestly all of the frames are absolute gold to look at. Can’t get enough of the one where mob is lifting him though 😂 Unrelated but, man. Seeing geddan make a bit of a comeback is making me super nostalgic. It really was a quality meme back in its prime but like that other commenter said, seeing it again is making me feel a bit old lol~

Is it making a comeback? I made this animation on a whim on the day of Reigen's birthday and I haven't seen anything recent online about geddan then (or now). If it does make a comeback, that would be really fun!

@@konichiwajh Gonna be honest and say I'm unsure...? I keep getting recommended old memes (geddan in particular) and saw that a few that were made in like the last month or so, so I just assumed that it was picking up again seeing that yours was also made pretty recently (instead of years ago) as well. Guess that's a my bad on my part for jumping to conclusions based on what the algorithm was showing me here haha. Either way totally agree! A geddan renaissance is something I would welcome with open arms 🤩😂
