Yeah for sure we totally understand that. Honestly would prefer stores that support the regulars who support them! Agreed with your strategy on “leaking” bottles every once in a while to make new regulars. Really loved the vibe at Scottish Shield; will almost certainly be back even though it’s a bit of a trek for us. They’d probably be our regular store if we lived closer.

@@abcbourbon and they do tend to leak some. I’ve found a Toasted Barrel E.C sitting on a barrel head. Not much, but even that bottle around the mid state is hard to find. Stores around the mid area drop Buffalo Trace on socials to draw consumers. It’s wild, but I keep looking for the whiskey I like to drink regardless. I open all of them, allocated or not. I mean why wouldn’t we? Whiskey is meant be be shared and drank, at the right price point that is! Good hunting to you both.

​@@abcbourbon I compared the two labels and that was definitely an 11. Highly encourage you to return and snag that if it's within your budget. Had a sample from a buddy and it is absolutely phenomenal. Haven't been able to source my own bottle in Houston yet. It's 73% 13yr Kentucky 21% 10yr Kentucky and 6% 6yr Bardstown distillate. Made many a top 10 lists this year. Let me know if you get it. You could even consider a video review for further content. A lot of people are looking for that bottle. It would likely generate some solid traffic to your channel.

Well I have a special spot for Whistlepig as it was one of the first whiskeys ever gifted to me but that said, if you like high-quality ryes with great baking spice notes, the Whistlepig 10 is a great entry into the category. $90 is a pretty solid price point for it as well!
