Hi Darlene and sweet family! I hope your arms feel better. I hope you get to visit with the grandbabies soon. I hope everyone has a very blessed Labor Day weekend too!
Good morning, Darlene! I'm glad you had a good night's sleep. Switching rooms is a big chore and you just over did it. I hope your arm feels better soon. We are having a cold morning (65°f 18.3c). The dogs and I just went for a good walk and we want to go back to sleep now! I hope your grandkids get to come visit you soon. Happy Labor Day!
Good morning Darlene! Glad to hear you are sleeping better. Hope you get to see your grandkids. I spent a couple nights in Regina at my daughter's, got to see my grandkids for abit. Now with school starting Tuesday and their activities I don't see them very much. Hope your having a good Labour weekend. Hugs 🤗🤗❤❤
Darlene, I am typing this up as I listen/watch your video. My sweet lady, you are amazing. And, your family is also. You are so far ahead of us regarding technology for PD, pump? etc. My loved one is NOT interested in 'shots' in the neck yet. One side likely cortisone and the other side ... botox. We were told. Anyway, this is LIFE. We all do our best. Your channel, YOU ... are the most authentic person I have seen on RU-vid. .... well .... there are a few on here that I've had the good fortune to see their love and authenticity and community spirit. Well, just trying to say, I'm SO glad that I found your channel. My eyes and ears are open for things that I learn from you that may help my husband. Anecdotally ..... I learned that Canada also celebrates Labor Day!
Thank you. So much for your kind words. I really do try to make it exactly like real life for me. There's good days and there's bad days but I choose the good days mostly. I look forward to getting to know you through the comments welcome.
@@darlenemylifewithparkinsons I just woke up from a nap. I almost NEVER nap. But by noon, it had been one of those days. Super productive. Exhausting. So I kept pushing a couple hours, then I rested a couple hours. Very necessary. Some of the things that folks don't discuss much are the business end of things. Whether a person has a progressive disease like PD (like my husband) or not ... and whether a person has dementia yet, or has it diagnosed yet, or not. (It does not always but can happen with PD.) There are considerations that are best discussed, I would say the sooner the better. My husband's PCP asked him to please complete his advanced directive / living will documents ... A YEAR AGO. He was very hesitant and had his reasons. Finally, the paperwork is done. His wishes remain about what he has discussed with me for the past year or two. In our state, it MUST be in writing and 'official' or else the spouse does not automatically get to advocate and make choices for their loved one if that person becomes unable to do so, for whatever reason. I think I will add this to my list of things I want to cover on my channel. Maybe a to do list of sorts and also a video just on this topic. I only started making little samples of songs about a week ago. I've seen a couple of good channels in the past couple of weeks, including yours which address PD or @dementiacaregiving by John and Heather ... OR Jason and Leslie's channel @LivingwithDementia ... and the channels are helpful and the comments from other viewers is very helpful. Well, like usual, this comment became way too long. The exhaution and relief from knowing we got the important documents completed probably just wore me out. I appreciate your offer to get to know each other through the comments. My comments to you are super heartfelt and with much appreciation for all that you share and all the work your family is doing to lift you and each other up, to take care of you all as best as possible and to love each other. You are not alone. Thanks again. Lynn (Mom was Nancy, too, so my parents and friends always have called me "Lynn".)
