@@WEFISH-London Seems like they're NIMBY's to me. _"Can't fish here. It's private."_ I'd love to buy a place there, fish, and when someone said, _"Can't fish here. It's illegal."_ I'd say, _"When I had the search for the property I bought, I asked about fishing here and guess what? It's free."_ ;-))...

I’m from a small town myself so it’s a massive novelty fishing these kind of places for me, I’m not here forever so I’m trying to fish in as many urban places as I can whilst I’m in London it’s a different kind of excitement.

@@simonartley1645 i genuinely didn’t see any signs but I think there may have been some on the other side that were put up by local residents. I won’t go back it’s not worth the bother.

@PennyPastor-yk1cg no they arnt. Show me where you found this info and then I will show you exactly why its wrong. Developers do not own the water ways even if they own the lad they are on (but I don't believe for one second anyone does own this land to to be clear) , and they certainly don't own these old carp. These fish have been in the waterways for many many years and just because they swim inside an area doesn't mean you own them. Why do you say things that you are un sure about? God gave everybody this land and water and its not just for the wealthy developers to say who can use them. If they where owned then there would be a bailiff with the correct paper work to explain this. I have never once seen one in many many many years of fishing them. And as such I have never moved on when been told by losers like you and not once has a police come along to move me on either. Why!? because they dont belong to anyone. Just local losers just like yourself that think they can talk to people like me like that.. But I tell you one thing, many have tried but not one has had the balls to try moving me, and just like you, if they did they would get in serious trouble. No one is listening to losers like you anymore the gig is up and the word is spreading and we are all coming for your local water ways, and there isn't anything you can do about it apart from move out out our areas. I would suggest keeping stum if you ever see us fishing or you might end up finding problems for yourself.,

I have both an E.A license and a canal and rivers trust waterway wanderers permit. I found the place on google maps and it’s a public piece of water, I think it’s exciting finding places on google maps and turning up not knowing what’s going to be there. The locals obviously feel a certain level of ownership due to living so close and probably paying a lot to live in the area.

It’s not illegal to fish there but thanks for watching!

To be fair, if you're not going to watch the video properly and listen to what is said, you shouldn't be making silly comments like that. It makes you look rather foolish to be honest.

In Germany one has to attend a 4 day school and pass an exam to obtain a fishing licence . And an extra exam for fly fishing .

@@johnsmith-rs2vkfunnily enough I have a licence to fish in Germany, I have a visitor licence though so didn’t have to sit the exam.😊

@@johnsmith-rs2vk I used to live in Cologne Germany I had to do all that to fish in the local park , the course was a bit boring but it turned out ze Germans where great and surprisingly funny I made some good friends on that course 👍

Do you have any idea how many "no entry" and "no trespassing" and "trespassers will be prosecuted" signs are erected on public land and rights of way in Britain? Anyone can erect a sign, doesn't mean it has any standing in law...

It's called urban fishing and some of the best fish can come from these places , that's why people fish them

@@thehoodfab1 I have been an angler for 60 years so I have a bit of a clue. Many years ago, I used to fish from the tow path at Enfield Lock both pleasure fishing and on the match circuit surrounded by factories and warehouses. Constant traffic noise and verbal abuse from do gooder passers by. I had Bream to 8lb and my first 6lb chub. If you’re like most so called anglers of today, searching for over fed boilie filled Carp using braided line that you could tow a car with then carry on with your quests my friend.

I didn’t go there with that intention at all, I found the canal on google maps and when I arrived there were carp everywhere. There are no signs at all where I was fishing. When I got to a pond that had signs I didn’t fish it. If you look at all my other videos that isn’t what this channel is about at all I just like discovering new places in London and giving them a go.

I’m pretty sure the residents of the flats have come together and decided they don’t want anyone fishing so they’ve put up signs.

I didn’t realise until I got there I’d taken 2 sections of 2 different rods 😅 they fitted together so saved me going home

As I’ve replied on a different comment I have both a canal and river trust waterway wanderers permit and an E.A licence. The canal I fished on is on public land so I don’t really see what the problem is?

It’s just info really for your viewers. We get lots of kids just thinking they can fish anywhere because they’ve seen someone on you tube doing it, and their parents are clueless about fishing and what it’s all about.

@@theveramod1 I do understand what you mean maybe I should think in future about making a bad impression on any kids who are watching. To be honest I didn’t expect the video to get anywhere near as many views as it has and I don’t go out with the intention of annoying people I just saw carp and thought I’d have a quick go.

2:09 I was talking about the canal I was fishing. 2:41 The bloke says “go to Shadwell basin it’s got loads of carp in it.” To which I replied “I know I have fished it before.” Hope this clears that up.

That session was really recent mate, I literally fish once a week, get home then edit and post over the next couple of days, same for all my vids
