I once had a lady come up to me and yell at me to leave a lake in a public park that advertises fishing on its website. After I refused and told her off, she appeared to give up, but she hung around for about 20 more minutes. As soon as I had my back turned, I heard "splash, splash." I turned around and saw her taking (dead) fish from my cooler and threw them back in the lake. I shoved her in the lake and she called the cops. I told them what happened, and they laughed at her and told me I could keep fishing. I decided instead to pack up after losing all my fish. I don't think anyone can be a fisherman in Florida without running into people who have nothing better to do than harass fisherman. It's a rite of passage.
@CA2CAoutdoors Unfortunately, there is no video. The cop said to her, "He shouldn't have thrown you in the lake, and you shouldn't have harassed him and threw his fish in the lake." She said something about locking me up, and the cop said, "You're both in the wrong. I can arrest you both, or you can go about your day." She didn't want to go to jail, so it was dismissed.
thise people r very dangerous to peacfull people. because people like me r law obiding and love to hunt and ish . thats my life and culture. im 100% mohawk native. i live on turtle island (north america). i do not have to have a licence to fish or hunt. (part of our treaties) and i have gun licence in the u.s. and canada anyway. because i understand i need for pistols. and in canada iis very racist in the law where i have to have licence to buy ammo. but i can hunt with gun. how can u hunt (but cant buy ammo) !!!!!! u c ? never been in trouble with the law. but here in canada if someone got in my face and hit me and i deended myself i woul loose my guns and be thrown in jail just for defending mysel. so we natives espesually here in canada have 2 b very carefull !!!!!!! they love taking our guns !!! Yes, but mirroring their actions in front of your toddler. Age daughter is not the best example to set. There is such a thing as having grace in these moments. You can talk to your daughter and teach her. What was wrong and write about it without showing her that you are an aggressive male and that you can't have a conversation without charging up to the guy and threatening him . Yep, guy went nuts on me for cuelty to fish , took my fish and threw it back into the water, i had made an excuse i had my friend watch my rods and went to the mens room and called game warden, he was in the parking lot when backup arrival town police. He was charged with harassment of a sportsman , and petty theft ( he stole my fish)
I was born in communist state and by accident I’m in HOA prison,I didn’t know all the bs being written in HOA rules ,all what I can say is HOA most definitely beats the communist rules.
@@bradp2772 when i was a kid, my parents bought a camp that used to a resort. the cabin that they bought, was not part of the hoa. but the hoa was the same. it was thiere just to maintain the dirt road and to pay for the dumpster during the camping season (spring thru fall). my parents were very against being part of an hoa. at the time (as a kid), i didn't understand. but now as an adult, i fully understand.
Yep I work for the county where I live and I go into these communities with HOAs in a truck with the county seal and strobing lights and there's always someone who thinks I'm not supposed to be there even though one of the residents called me. The last time it happened I left and told the resident that needed assistance that your HOA queen kicked me out! We got a apology from the HOA and miss everybody's business is my business was removed from the board. But it doesn't always work out that way.
I carry my 9 unless u got proof of ownership or some that tells me I can't fish then I won't b the one leaving I'm a nice guy and fishing is a good way to get some peace and quiet
Sorry what seemed like a awesome day for you finally back fishing had to end like that. Years ago, I became friends with an elderly man that owned property along some prime steelhead holes on a small creek. He watched me the first few times I respected his property and walked in a long ways from public property and stayed on the opposite side. After a few short hello how great the fishing is along there, he told me I could just park on his property. Eventually, he told me to I didn't need to stop by the house and I could fish any time. I will call him Jack. Jack would periodically greet me at the creek the remainder of the season as I was a frequent visitor. The following year, my ships homeport moved to CA. I kept in touch with Jack and we discussed my return home for leave during Christmas. He knew I liked to fish early so he said just fish and I will see you later in the morning. I came back during leave from the Navy and went fishing there just a week after. While I was fishing, a guy younger than him and a woman came down to the creek yelling at me about being on private property. I told him that I had permission from the owner. He snapped at me and said that was his dad who just passed away. I was shocked because it was just a week ago. I tried to give condolences to this guy I never knew about. He proceeded to tell me to leave very rudely and to not come back as they were not allowing any access to the property. By the time I returned back to the area years later, there were signs everywhere, fencing, etc... and I stopped going there even through the public back way to retain the good memories of Jack.
I always tell people like that to call the police or DNR, or better yet I'll call the police and DNR. If they don't leave me alone I press charges for harassment. These people don't learn unless they have their hands forced by law enforcement. Over 20 years of tournament bass fishing I've encountered more dock Karen's than I care to think about. I've only had to call DNR twice, thankfully. And they don't mess around here in NC. Docks here are permitted. They'll pull the permit and rip the dock out if they get tired of dealing with someone.
Now, there's an idea. The water is open to all, and they have placed a dock (hopefully, with a permit); if no permit, I'd just call the local authorities and DEMAND the removal of the ILLEGAL dock.
He handled the whole thing like a Karen.... He was aggressive and confrontational from the 1st interaction. Real cool guy getting Tuff with senior citizens.

when i was younger a karen was tossing potato's in the water to scare the fish and called police, they threatened to charge her for polluting and feeding wildlife.
I've been struggling with posting a video about a "Kevin." I was night fishing in my boat and a transplant dock owner started harassing me alleging I was a poacher. In Florida, not only is it illegal to harass an angler, but anglers are allowed to open carry firearms and citizens are allowed to shoot an individual if they feel threatened. That situation could've ended badly for him. It seems like dock owners are getting more and more aggressive the more transplants we get moving to Florida. I don't really think most truly know the dangers they are in.
I think my message will center on, "If you're a Karen or Kevin dock owner...just call the FWCC. Better safe than sorry. The wildlife officer will either give the angler a ticket or the dock owner a ticket. Everyone goes home alive and safe."

I don’t think he was in the right. it’s a privately owned lake. Residents can fish there but they need a permit from the harbor master. If his Dad is a resident he should know the rules.

As the husband of an HOA prez,they're worried about stuff like Fishhooks,old bait, people and Pets getting caught in fishing line trash etc etc... can be an expensive Law suit against the HOA. that said, if it not in the "written Rules and Regs" They can't stop you. interesting how people wanna live on the water and not let people fish.

I live in this city which is Westlake Village CA. The HOA’s at the lake all have terrible reputations. You can fish at the landing with a license as it’s public property. Good luck

I live in a HOA. Visitors are aloud to use the lake but they must be accompanied by a member at all times. As long as you are on your dad's shoreline they can't do anything.
The gate had a sign on it saying "No Dogs" funny, i saw this big fluffy dog inside the gate. They violated the rules... Idiots are the worst, they just dont get it. Nice fish.
I got HOA up my butt once because I was trying to catch grass carp in a neighborhood pond. The difference is there was “no fishing signs” but I really didn’t care because I’d done it dozens of time. Funny thing is I asked the dude if he had anything better to do besides yell at fishermen and he said “no.” He might not have even been HOA because he didn’t know there was fish in there till I told him.
No you have everything documented on video. Language doesn't matter. Notify game warden and police. File complaints, otherwise you are letting buttheads off thehook.
yeah i know that would be the best thing to do to really get it through their heads to not do this but unfortunately its california and at this point i think the police would laugh and fish and game maybe would give them a warning but i wouldnt hold my breath on that one either

We were driving from Arizona to New Jersey, and when we drove to Arkansas it was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen large trees and many many lakes and ponds, people sunning on blankets people fishing people taking a walk it was beautiful like paradise, I could never imagine anyone in their right mind complaining about doing any of that.

Reminds me of my neighbor she’s 74 years old we live in the suburbs so keep in mind there’s about a 20 foot buffer between our houses so we’re not on top of each other. I just put a backyard resort in my backyard due to being HVAC guy so can’t go away during the summer. Same shit but your fisherman deal with my music is too loud and when I mean too loud, he could barely hear it the sound of my waterfalls too loud. one day called the cops on me for being drunk by myself in my backyard no less. Don’t give me wrong. I had a good buzz going on, but I did not even seen the woman or even spoke to her. She stares at the window all the time in my backyard. One day I’m gonna give her a good show lol
The only mistake I see in this video on your part, is you talked to the lady in the first place. If you're in the legal right to be somewhere, you are under NO obligation to engage anyone bothering you or questioning your being there... I don't answer questions at all when I'm fishing unless it's fishing related by another angler. Period. She's asking if you live there, etc, .. none of her business, but you're answering her like you owe her that info. Don't in the future, keep casting and move on with your day.

We were fishing by an HOA one time (on our river) and they said we couldn't fish there. I said what? They said, you heard me. I said, go home and play your video games. They got so mad😂😂 They dont own the water. And i didn't move my boat 😂
