THANKS to everyone visiting my RU-vid Channel and taking your time to check out my latest video!!! I have been asked so many times, which of the two #HarborFreight #Predator Generators do I like the best? So instead of hooking them up to a refrigerator, box fan or anything else common, I decided to hook both to my #Vulcan220 OmniPro Welder and test how it will work running solely off each generator. It was no surprise to see the results as both of these @Harbor Freight Tools Generators are top notch units! The #Vulcan #OmniPro is no slouch either as it makes welding so easy!!!
***NOTABLE EDIT***
WHEN STORING THIS GENERATOR... with the RUN switch to the OFF position, it blocks fuel from draining from the tank to the carburetor. So if you turn the switch to OFF, then drain the bowl as shown, you should NOT have any issues with the carb gumming up between usage periods.

I’m thinking of getting the Vulcan 215. I have the predator 3500 and I have a predator 9500. Never ran a welder off a generator before. The 9500 has a 220 plug. I live 100% off grid.

On other channels, they break the weld apart using a vice and a pipe wrench to see how much penetration the weld has into the steel. This is a way to gauge the weld strength.

Iv got an older 6550 that's 5000 run power..runs my older millermatic 130 mig well..

change to 100% CO2 instead of C25 and it will be a lot hotter. No splatter on 120v. If the Vulcan has an inductance setting, you can play with that on CO2.

I had the exact same Predator 2000 watt generator I returned two of them because on both of them the pull starter broke they have a garbage pull starter so if you're using it everyday it'll probably only last about a month or two

Mine stopped working and nothing I can find will get it to start. Checked the valves, oil and fuel with nothing working to remedy the issue.

Yes!! It has been a great welder, so easy to use and in three years have run through a dozen bottles of gas while running miles of wire through it! Not one issue... just always performs flawlessly.

There isn't a 220V on the 3500. It is 120V 30A twist lock. And he even mentioned in the video that he doesn't have the correct adapter to fully utilize that, so he was going to try the 20A sockets instead.

There's a 220 plug that goes with the welder and it should plug into the Gennie too

These are really nice generators, I bought a 20kw on sale after Super Storm Sandy. It is way too much for my house. This 10Kw diesel would have been perfect. Diesel fuel seems to be more readly available than Gasoline when there is an event like a hurricane. The upfront cost seems hefty but these generators hold their value. Nice, I just read the owners manual to see how many things can be plugged in and running at once. It says 4 hours runtime @ 50% load. Does this mean it will run through 1 gallon of gas in 4 hours ?

I've run the 3500 for 12 hours powering a TV and stereo system while tailgating the game and after refilling the tank, I ran all night with a security lighting system and several box fans running until the morning. I'm sure the Predator 2000 will run for quite a while as I ran it for 30 minutes welding and only poured in less than a pint of fuel.

I do not see why not since it worked fine with the Vulcan 220 welder on the 110v

Honestly I have not tried... might be something to do on a future video. I have no reason to think it will not work as the TIG feature will work using the 110v plug.

I couldn't get a stick welder at 20 amps to work with a 5000 w Jupiter. I'm going to try again with a couple more batteries in parallel. If that fails I will try my 2000 watt inverter generator and if that fails I'm going to buy a Vulcan.

I cranked the wire up to the highest setting it would go on a 110volt input. With the right plug, I could have used the 30amp output on the #Predator3500 and cranked the welder way up!
