I picked up a set of these a few years ago and use them like you do to install the 37” tires on my Jeep. At about 95 lbs per tire/wheel combo they do get cumbersome trying to install them the traditional way. These dollies make the tire swap laughably easy for this 60 year old man.
I just bought one today for the same reason. I'm right at the same weight with 265/70/18 E load-rated tires and I'm just a couple of years younger than you.
Because of your video, I was able to find and purchase a similar model from Facebook Marketplace for a mere $35... practically brand new AND IN CANADIAN FUNDS! Very excited to use when I change tires out in the spring. Will definitely save my back! Thanks again!
That is Awesome 😁👍Some people don’t know that it can be used like this. I think you got a steal. I believe they are over $100 US😵💫 Have a great weekend 🚜💨☀️
I've had a few vehicles where I would swap out wheels for the winter. Also lived in a few areas where I could just use summer/all-season the entire year. I thought about having something like this if I wanted to put turfs on my tractor (if I kept my R4 set, too). You are right on how heavy those back wheels become when filled with ballast. Yikes. Excellent tool.
Thanks 😁👍 I hope your neck gets better last year I had to get ACDF surgery so I know about neck pain. This is a good work around minimal upper body strain. Thanks for watching 🚜💨☀️
Thanks 👍Ross I will have to do some research on doing studs. I did not know that you could do that. See your son has good content he should start a channel.😁👍🚜💨💡
I was going to say “that looks like a German hub” and then the wheel appears with BMW 😉, that’s a great tip Mitch, I could incorporate this in another dolly… Hummm 🤔😉😂👍🏻. Have a great one 🙋🏼♂️🙂👍🏻🍻
Thanks Luc! I was going to blur it out but decided not to. I new you would like it Mr Dolly Man.🤣 Plus it saves my back for more important stuff. 😁👍🚜💨💡🙋🏻♂️
How's she goin'? The wheel dolly is pretty neat!!! For studless hubs, this would be a 'must have' tool for the shop. Thanks for sharing your technique!!! Take care!!!
Great idea, thanks for sharing. You read our mind, we were thinking it would be great on some of our tractors that have holes rather than studs on the hub
Thanks for confirming this works. Was looking to purchase one of these (generic brand) for my father. He is 75 now and has complained that he has problems changing between summer and winter tires on his SUV. Car tires are huge and heavy now adays compared to the 80s and 90s.
I need to switch my dish in and rims out to fit Ben Kennedy's gifted wheel weights, but don't think those will work on bigger tires like mine. Great idea, though. YOU'VE GOT ME THINKING!!!
I think 🤔 you can come up with one to get it done or modify one to work with bigger tires. I can’t wait to see what you come up with. Have a happy thanksgiving 😁👍🚜💨🍗
I will have to get this, I used two floor jacks to put my rimguard filled rear kubota 3400 tire back on . worked but a little sketchy and not reproducible
I am thinking about some sort of Mod to make the dolly work better for different size tractor tires. If you watched my step by step summit video I used it to remove the rear right tire and it worked great. Have a great weekend 😁👍🚜💨🍳
Thanks In my step by step summit hydraulic video I used it to take off the rear tire on the tractor to install a hose fitting and it worked great 👍 thanks for checking out the video 😁👍🚜💨🍳
Wow. Just wow. I saw one of these on sale but wasn't sure what to do with it. Definitely going to try it out now. Too old to handle tires anymore but after 230k on my truck and 26 years, a bunch of work on the wheels has crept up.
@@MJADoingStuff LOL. I happened to be in my storage container yesterday and found the exact same wheel dolly. I believe I bought it several years ago to use a 20% coupon that was expiring. I felt someday I would have a need for it. Thank you MJA, your tip just resolved a issue for me. 👍 I forgot I even owned one!!!
I just bought one of those ( a different brand ) for that very reason. At 72 years old I have gotten to the point where I cant lift a 265 70 16 inch tire and wheel back onto my truck so this roller will work great.
Wow, I have never owned a car that had bolts for the wheels. Where I live we don’t have enough snow that requires us to have to change out the tires for winter driving.
I miss those days. I used to live in Northern California Great weather. Minnesota is a whole different world in the winter 🥶Thanks for leaving a comment. Have a great evening 🚜💨💡😁👍
@@MJADoingStuff If you watch your video at the first 8 seconds you say "you use your dolly a little bit different than it was made for". So my question is......what was it actually made for?
@@erwinerwin1245 Normally you put one on each corner of a car and lift all 4 wheels off the ground so you can move it sideways closer to a wall. 😁👍🚜💨☀️
@@MJADoingStuff OK. I get it now. So normally one goes on each wheel and a car can be pushed sideways or in any direction. I see a lot of these same ones that you have are used for tire removals the same as you show in your excellent video.
In my summit hydraulic step by step video I removed the rear tire on the B2601 and that was about the max I would think 🤔 thanks for checking out the video 😁👍🚜💨🍳
@@MJADoingStuff yes that does thank you! I have a high side trailer. Need to load my quads sideways or buy a bigger trailer. So now in the morning I'll be measuring my tires
