Kim, my great grandparents, born at the end of the 1800s, had end tables that were painted with speckled paint. That paint had sand in it. Trying to redo those was a huge task. Please just disregard Judy's and Ellie's comments. Levi's antics make me smile. Happy Thanksgiving. ❤❤❤❤

I have stripped a lot of trim on my brothers house. I used Heat gum and a scraper. Then use a portable electric hand sander. I worked quite well.

Hello there 🙋‍♀️ Hope all goes well 😊 Thank you for sharing. It brings back memories of long ago. Mom kept her tradition of homemade cranberries with honey and a tiny little fruit called calamondin. The peel is sweet and the fruit tart. We had our own tree. It looks like a miniature tangerine. In later years I continued... But, I substituted tangerine.i would peel the tangerine and cut into tiny strips and juice the pulp. Even later down the road in of life add a little orange juice and cinnamon. The cranberries are cooked until all the berries pop and honey adjusted to just right, LoL. Miss all that. Her generation have all passed on ( original 8 siblings.First 3 girls then 5 boys) All the brother's served in WWII. Anyway, time moves on. XO XO 😘❤️

My little family just consists of three of us now. Miss all those that we have lost, for sure at the holidays. SIL is sick this year, so we will postpone out Thanksgiving dinner til he’s well. Y’all have a wonderful time together! Enjoy and be very thankful for each other.

I love the bargains you get. I too love old doors 🚪. The first house my husband and I lived in had solid wood doors throughout the house someone painted over them. We ended up selling as our kids came we needed a bigger house. I wish I had those doors where I live now. I love all you do...so don't change for anyone...love you and Levi.....❤😊

Some people love to decorate for every season some people do not like decorations, both are fine. My thought is to each their own, everyone should do what brings happiness to them. I use that same pecan pie recipe Kim… I got it from my older cousin in Fort Worth before I left in ‘85.I’ve used it with both whole and chopped and I always add extra pecans too… best pie ever imo!

I always love old furniture. I have a sideboard, and China cabinet I sanded down all the varnish off and white washed them w turquoise paint. Love your doors.

My Granddaughter calls canned jelled cranberries “round cranberries”. We always thought that was so cute! One year I made cranberry relish, with fresh cranberries, oranges and a little sweetener. Put it in a blender/food processor and refrigerate. Really good the next day for a little something different. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁

It is a shop , not a hospital , in a shop you work , so is not cleaned up , Lady back of from Kim , she lives in a home , in her home not a better homes and Garten showcase , I think Kim is making a warm beautiful home for Levi and herself , and I love when Kim is doing her Magic , keep going Kim .

Hi Kim, I'm making pecan pie this year and Marie Calander is going to help a whole lot This is the first year I am not hosting Thanksgiving. My mom always did Thanksgiving, when she passed I have been doing it. So, it will be nice to not have to do all the cooking......😊❤ Happy Thanksgiving to you both....❤🙏😊

Although Black walnuts don't taste as smooth as English walnuts, my Mom made a GREAT black walnut cake. In Kentucky, We lived in an old log cabin on ancient Indian hunting grounds for a year , Dad decided us 6 kids needed a lessen in survival skills.We had dozens of black walnut treees , beech nut & hickory nut trees. All the trees had already been lime washed at the base to prevent worm infestation. All the walnuts were worm free & superb tasting after they dried in the attic for 6 months. We had enough nuts for a family of 8 , and had enough walnuts left over to sell at the local elevator to supplement our grocery money. Enjoy the holidays

The silent generators are great. I bought one last year at Thanksgiving for the black Friday sales. It has proven to work well for me when my electricity went out in the winter January this year. We had several hours of no electricity & I hooked up my TV & a few lights. All was well for that time period. I do have a small portable heater also if the electric would go out for long periods of time. Just hook it up to that generator & whala heat.

Good Tuesday morning Kim and Levi. Love your lit tree in the background. Your family is amazing and so close. That to me is rarity. Don't see Jake or LE at any get togethers anymore except the boat race. As for cranberries it's always been canned jellied. I saw Tina's video and how Rob only eats hole made cranberries. Our family was all canned. When our matriarch family members started passing get togethers were fewer. Now its basically my youngest son grandbabies and me. I tolerate Christmas for for grandbabies.Any have a blessed Tuesday ❤ ❤.

Some of the newer paint companies have sand additives you can add to your paints to give texture. Like the additives that can crackle new paint.

My Dad used to paint our front porch and steps with enamel paint with sand in it. The enamel was very slippery when wet .. traction with the sand. That door could have been in direct sunlight and had been baking for years. Will look beautiful when finished. Love your projects!!

Kim I remember whenever you brought ball mason jars you got a little recipe booklet in the box for making different jellies or how to can something. I still have some of my mom's they are my go to for alot of homemade things.

Use a heat gun or torch it bubbles the paint loose

Kim you can get that cabinet deeper without taking it all apart. Get 12" shelf board wood and add it on the sides to get the depth you want.

Kim, use Krud Kutter to clean the years of tar off of old furniture. Works like a champ. Do that before sanding, scraping, or painting. 😉

We hd a big family which had 14 adults and 13 kids. My grandparents put a piece of plywood on the table and used a sheet as a tablecloth. All the adults and a few of the older kids all fit. All we needed was a bunch of folding chairs. And as far as cranberry sauce, my family made cranberry relish. In the food processor we chopped whole cranberries and oranges and added a bit of sugar to cut the tart.

How you live your life is your choice and how you want it to be. You are blessed.
