Your videos are AWESOME!!!! I just got the Canon EOS R10 & I'm really nervous about starting my product photography business. Your videos really motivates me. Please keep up the great work.
I needed a prod photographer to take pics of emergency first aid supplies. I started following you a couple of days ago. Since then i have emulated your husky photo desk setup- A must see video everyone- i did some test shots with my iphone looking at shadow. Yesterday I purchased a used camera sony a7 iii. I downloaded a photo spectrum graph( i think thats the name) and associated colored paper in order to shot red and orange first aid kit. Cant wait to get my camera and try your techniques.
I was just saying this the other day. I noticed this huge trend of using super hard light and very minimal sets that they're shooting in as well. Of course, for the photographer who knows lighting that makes things very easy. It makes our lighting setups smaller. But videos like this are good because it is still possible to completely fumble if you don't pay attention to your lighting
just starting out with product photography and I felt so owerhelmed with all the different techniques and lighting options! this video was so helpful and beginner friendly! I actually think I could pull this of! Will try some harsh lighting shots soon! Thank you😍
I’ll add it to the list of requested videos! But you can start now. The principles I teach in these videos (lighting, composition) is what’s important. They can be applied to any product.
Chris do you recommend continous light for these sort of pictures. I was about to pull the trigger on godox ad400 but now doubting. Any recommendation perhaps on a pro light you'd recommend would be great.
I recommend continuous if you're just starting out. I use the aputure 300d and the nanlite 200, and ad400. Godox ad400 is great but there is a learn curve. If you want to learn flash early, then dive into it.
Hi Chris, been watching many of your videos lately. Thank you for all of the value and efforts. I really want to swap out my clunky backdrop for a single stand one like yours, but can only find ones with stands on the middle. Please can I know the name of yours 🙏🏼 thanks dude
It all depends on the light source. A super powerful continuous light will overpower the window light, meaning you can have big windows and light. A weak light source won't overpower the window light so you'll need to cover up the windows.
