@@t3hgir Car Bomb is heavily influenced by Meshuggah obviously and all the dudes have said that time and time again. But then Car Bomb started touring with meshuggah In the last 10 years and became more well known and I wouldn’t be surprised if some of their particular flavor has in turn rubbed off on Shuggah
You should really listen to what he did in Casimir Liberski's album "Cosmic Liberty". It's like some kind of contemporary/progressive Jazz. There are playthroughs of "Violente Absinthe" and "White Lighter" that are insane. Also, I recommend "New Life", but I think there is no playthrough of it. But it is nonetheless amazing. Moreover, he also has done an amazing job with Victoria, "Kepler" and "Perennial" are amazing songs. This guy is a Beast.
They just said Matt your so fucking good at drums, and were just happy your playing our cymbals! No worries about explaining the cymbals you use at the end no worries mate!
pmfs, brilliant, sheesh that track 1 from stray int atoms album, fukin ssssssssmmmaaassshhhhed my ears, drums are killer on it craig, fuk man your one of the best whackers dude really great work
If I'm not mistaken, he was able to specifically choose that ride from a certain rep at Meinl.. I could be mistaken, but he does have a video on the cymbals.
The kick thing.. I'm sure you already know this.. but.. in case.. Is called skipping, learning it is easiest with slick shoes on flatter pedals so you can really get grip, I learned n I believe was told by a dude at a drum shop to move my foot up the pedal and the friction helps the foot sort of "skip" due to the friction. That's my memory anyway but that was 17/18 years ago n it didn't take long to be able to just do it without needing to skip up the pedal so... y'know I don't know how fast your double kicks are but you could try reversing what I did and do triplets ( RLR ), get used to that muscle memory n start getting rid of the left foot somehow
Think im missing my "bottom head".. Unless thats what my applebag is... Eh, either way, thought your name was RimLord.. i see its spelt different tho..
I’d rather hear instrumental than the same guttural vocals every band has been doing for the last 20 years , very few bands have good cleans that don’t sound cheesy and dated too. Loathe is one of the few bands with cool cleans I have heard recently
