I've played with/know of a lot of the players in that guild from Classic and guys like Ahmpy/Bobka/Nineteen/Jaelaw are absolutely cracked but they also have a bunch of absolute clowns on board. Idk if I could raid hardcore with people who are that bad and risk wasting that much of my time. Yam lost his character because the RAT druid wanted to DPS instead of doing his job. How could I forget Windforce, maybe the best tank in Classic history.

Yeah, it is kind of one of these golden rules. Never accept (start) a quest and go afk. There is no need to do that, you always can accept it after you came back. Even if you have to wait again, if the npc isn't available - it is always better to wait, than to risk death, losing hours or even days / weeks of progress, just to save a minute or two for convenience. Just like: don't take unneccessary risks if there is not a good reason to do so (can't always follow protocol in some circumstances - but blindly following it when there is good reason to deviate from it could lead you into trouble too). Other golden rules: >Use the health potion (some people die to save a potion, like "it will be fi-... oh, I'm dead") >Finish off the low hp mob >Use cc, if you have it >Don't pull without full hp/mana >Have a plan before you get into the situation (so many people doing slight mistakes, because they didn't think it through and then have to come up with something on the spot, eventually doing something they wouldn't have done if they had thought it through at least a little bit) Basic stuff. But getting the drill to avoid getting into slacking and die to stupid stuff is a big deal, imo.

During unofficial HC, a lot of players also agreed to not help each other. This was more for streamers, IMO, but a lot of players also use this rule. So outside of dungeons and raids most HC play is done completely solo “for the glory” which is what playing HC is already about.
