They’re fun for about 2 weekends and then it’s all the same no matter where you go haha. I much prefer riding even at my house where there is some tighter gaps, logs, and sharper turns. But yes this trail is pretty badass to hit!
@@dmcdevitt8 I feel every slow on a 300 then a 125 or even 250 but my lap times a faster on the 300. It’s the high rev sounds and Constant shifting of a smaller Bore bike
@@sxsmarine4075 agree with you for sure, the 125 is def too much shifting i suppose my point was its not to be counted out as a beast. Look at Jimmy decotis, used to rippp the shit out of a 125
Hahaha I think the one or two times that happens in a ride would struggle to account for blowing out the whole trail! My 2min long home track has maintained a nice singular rut all the way around! Thanks for watching Nathan!
Love Evart, but I never understood why everyone says it is the toughest. There are sections of Tomahawk that are tighter and more technical if you ask me.
Southern Indiana Enduro Club is having a camp and ride Oct. 24th weekend @ Moto Supreme in Central Indiana. You should come check it out. Some of the best singletrack and biggest hills, we've seen in Indiana.
Evart used to be sweet bout 15 yrs ago when it wasnt blow out. Definitely way better trail out there in lower peninsula if you explore a litlle. I do 500 to 600 of single track a year,Michigan has great opportunities. When we going riding? 17 300xcw.braaap
I kinda prefer the hard pack stuff like in CO. I’ve got a video titled “flowboner” from out your way. Just about as fast but not quite as technical of turns. And some more rocks...
I always worry about someone like you (a super fast rider) coming at me from the opposite direction on Evart. Gives me chills just thinking of being rammed at that kind of speed. I hope there are people ahead of you who could warn ordinary riders like me of the impending danger :) lol
I don’t ride this fast on most of the blind sections. Plenty of visibility to stop in time even if someone my pace was coming opposite way. Gotta look ahead! My finger never leaves the front brake! Obviously there are a few areas that were a little risky but we chatted with the others riding that day and had a good idea on where they’d be. Most if not all were going the same direction. Sometimes I had people in front of me, yes. But this all boils down to reason I don’t like riding the trail systems much. It’s all way to wide and fast to have fun on without getting dangerous. I honestly have more fun riding in my yard now with a few obstacles and a mile or two of trail over and over. No risk of head ons!
I've only been riding for one summer since I got my xr400r. Tried a single track over in Fife Lake for my 2nd long ride and...well it wasnt pleasant lol I might hit it again to see if I've gotten any better
@beRAD - How long did it take you to complete the loop? The last time I was there I was praying that the loop was done sooner. Was completely drained @others - Whats a typical ride time for you on the trail?
I’m not sure. I’ve never done the loop straight through as I’ve always been with groups of varying speed that like to take many stops. A friend of mine who’s fairly equal pace did it in under 2 hours all said and done with a stop I believe. I’d guess i could do it in 1:40 or something if really trying and no one else was there to run into haha
I have a plated WR450F that's a great all around bike, very tractable in the slippery Michigan single track, but I want to add either the YZ125X or YZ250X to my stable of bikes, just to exclusively ride single-track with. I'm having a difficult time deciding between the two. Do you have an opinion on my dilemma, fellow Michagander?
Welp, I'm 7 months late to the party here, but how one Earth did you manage to do this trail this fast and not head-on with anyone? Was the trail closed? Is it a one way? I ask because every time I try to ride even 2% as fast as this, I crash into a 4wheeler that shouldn't even be there and the guy on the 4wheeler blames me for going too fast every time even when I'm going less than 15mph.
It’s 2 way. A combination of talking with others at the staging area and knowing who’s going what way (usually we agree on a direction). Also just looking ahead. As you can tell in the video there plenty of line of site for the most part. And in that sand I can stop very quickly. Anytime I’ve had any “close calls” I was already stopped and/or off the trail before the person even touched their own brakes haha. There are a few sections that visibility sucks…yeah, dumb to go that speed through there but as far as we knew everyone else was either going the same way or we had already bypassed them. This is a reason why I’ve only ridden the public trails 2 or 3 times in the last couple years. I’d rather ride slower technical stuff anyway!
My xr400 took a crossrut a few months ago, literally whipped me into the dirt and broke my scapula. Was out for 6 weeks. Just had surgery for something else two weeks ago, and I'm off the bike for another 8
Its hard not having rock faces, shear cliffs, or cholla to hug when you go off trail not to mention the three feet granite ruts. Forget about the hundred yard sluce boxs filled with baby heads and kidneys, speed run not problem.
@@BeRAD it was super whooped out at the end of sept. I was wondering if you were super fast over them or if it wasn't as bad then. I know orv trails have had more than normal use this summer. Do you go there often?
This is too fast (for me), man! I cannot even follow the directional changes just sitting on my sofa. It will be interesting to see you pit your skills agains others. Nice riding.
Does that head your running up compression more than a “non x” yz125 or? I’m sure it’s worth it power wise but was wondering about reliability...maybe it’s negligible either way. Thx
The only reason the 250 would be better would be the straight long whoop sections which aren’t really in this video. The 125 could go just as fast, it just takes more work and I don’t have the endurance to ride it gracefully on whoops for that long haha
Idk if it’s the fact that you make it look easy or not being able to see the elevation change through the GoPro. But if this is the hardest trail in Michigan then you guys have some weak ass trails. I’m pretty sure you’ve ridden up in the Pacific Northwest already so you know what I’m talking about we got some hardcore shit up here. I’m not a great rider so like ours are sometimes above my level but I think I could ride what’s in this vid.
