I'm doing the same thing around my house, about the same size. The trouble I have is going out and cutting out a trail, then going to try to ride it and find I've made things to tight/narrow.
I do the same thing, I cleared out a long trail, put all my tools back into my garage 2 miles away, then found out my handlebars couldn’t even fit into the woods
I recommend a billhook brush clearing machete for those dumb ass thorn bushes, the long handle and curved blade make cutting and moving the thorns out of the way a breeze. I have to constantly cut thorn bushes out of my single track and it makes it much easier than a normal machete.
I think you have super skills and that is why I watch your videos but I am also super inquisitive. Texas to MIchigan? Desert to pine forest. How do you just buy a piece of land in the middle of "nowhere"? Michigan seems to be mostly forest (according to Google Maps). The concept of just riding in the woods is quite foreign to us, though... That is why I bought an electric off road bike to be able to train in the neighbourhood. Driving for 90 minutes just to ride enduro is not practical. I am an amateur naturalist so I am interested in the wildlife there. I recongnised the garter snake, bufo (frog) and sugarbird. What was the other snake? Good luck with the rest of your build. Can you get around the dam or must you go through it?
11:10 - That corner is setup (once dug in) to fire you over that log, stop trying to pump up the difficulty and highlight the brains that went into making it! Very Trump-esque... "Very difficult, it's the most difficult thing in the world!" "You have to concentrate on x to make sure this happens" feels much more genuine and you're an extremely knowledgeable rider capable of delivering such knowledge ;-)
