***NOTE - I am finding the Copics are a little tight on the bottom tier for my liking - please test before making yours, to make sure you will be happy with it!!!***
I love that idea. It's way better than the pegboard I was going to use for my small hand tools AND portable! Bliss here! Here's one for you: I use to work at a local retail location that had just about everything except the kitchen sink, furniture or appliances. One day I noticed that the shotgun ammo holders were about the same size as my lipstick tubes. I tried one and ta-da! Perfect fit, except you couldn't put the lid on it. Who cared? It's not like it was going anywhere. My friends were surprised and bought their own. Have a wonderful day!
How many thumbs up can I give?!?!?! And then you share that you are going to collaborate with The Posh Paper Lady?!?!!?😲😄😲😄😲😄 Did you hear me screaming from the east coast?!?!?!!?❤❤❤
Ooo, I got one....you could use them in a foam core shelf/dresser to add structure while still keeping it light. It would also help to cut the foam core square. :)
I really like the idea of using a pegboard and "S" hooks to hold everything. Hobby Lobby sells something similar to the marker/pen holder you made, but it's round. If you want to add a handle, you'll need to figure out a solution because it comes apart easily. I haven't completely decided how I want to organize everything, so I'm not ready to permanently glue the pieces together. Thank you! 🤗😘
@@TheCraftyOrganizer I love using found or heirloom items to hold stuff, but trying to refit them so they WORK as well as being cool - it can be a challenge. For my straight knitting needles, I have a cool wooden box designed to hold 3 big bottles, but all my smaller needles get lost in the bottom, & the tall ones fall over. With this I can customize the compartments so everyone stands up straight AND I can glue a bottom on half of the lower grid, so my DPN's have the boost they need. I can use a leftover piece to pop my circular needles thru. They can hang from the cable & not get twisted or kinked in some bag. I'm quite excited about this.
OMG!!! TWO of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE RU-vidRS in a COLLAB?! SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!!!! YAY!!! I'm so exited Noreen! I love you both so,so, so,So ooo ooo much!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
...and I was excited to tell you about the pretty-much-the-same-thing-only-round pencil and brush organizer from the Dollar Tree (affectionately nicknamed "The Tree" by moi. No one I'd rather be out smarty pants'd by. 😘😄😁❤🌞🌵
@@TheCraftyOrganizer I actually picked up my third one just yesterday. It's 5" across by 5.75" tall and has 49 holes top and bottom, just like yours. I actually thought you may have seen theirs, cuz what you've created is so similar. It's by Crafter's Square, but of course!
I had a hefty chuckle when toward the end you mentioned “it’s just a game of Tetris!” I recalled trying to explain to a relative my organization system for the temporary storage unit in the driveway and furniture placement in the one room of the house I had to live in while rebuilding from a storm. “It’s just Tetris. A giant game of Tetris.”
I use the light panel system for my Copic markers. (Using only 1piece of panel.) I have it set up in a box with a hinged lid that I bought on sale at Michaels. When I use them, I have it set upright. When I put my markers away, I set the box on it's side. Works very well for me. I love your ideas too!!
I have no idea if you read the new comments on old posts, but I hope you do. I don’t know how I missed this one when it first came out, but I did. I went to your channel this morning to specifically find ways to store pens, gel pens, marked, etc. I have hundreds and I want to be able to see them always. I do have the carrying case for my tombow markers, but I’m order to store them flat, I unfold the case and lay it flat beneath my monitor. That way I can keep them in numerical order, store them flat, and always have them at my fingertips. I have bought numerous storage things that sit on my desk for other pens, pencils, etc. the problem with that is, I’m running out of desk space! I just purchased a new set of 120 gel pens and have nowhere to put them 🙄 Thank you so much for this brilliant and inexpensive idea!! As far as copic markers go, my daughter and I both pronounce it with a long o sound as in hope. One other thank you. I also have an obsession with stickers. I saw your post about putting them in 3-ring binders. This has been great. Most of mine will fit in the page keepers designed for sports cards. The are 9 slots on each page. I also purchased sleeves with 3x 5 and 4x6 slits for the larger ones. I put the stickers in small ziplock bags so they slide out of the sheep protectors. It took a while to do it, but it is so worthwhile. I no longer make a special trip to bu specific stickers, because I probably have ones that will do. I sorted them buy subject, like all my flowers are in one binder, my animals are actually in two binders. I said I was obsessed - I now have 12 binders of sorted stickers that I can find and use! I’m sure I have over 10,000 stickers 😬. Thank you for your wonderful content!!
I try to read and reply to ALL of my comments!!! RU-vid likes to hide them on my sometimes though. LOL I am so glad you liked this video and it was helpful! 10,000 stickers!!! That is amazing! I am so happy you've found a way to store and organize them!!!!
@@TheCraftyOrganizer maybe iron it really flat and thake a good picture if you scan the picture on the computer the options are endless 😂 here i belgium we can order wallpaper from a picture. So we send in a picture and they create the wallpaper so it must be posible 😉
Yes, I am a Copic Girl and a Notebook Girl. I would love to see a notebook that holds Copic markers and ANYTHING ELSE FOR NOTEBOOKS! I have a serious storage problem and notebooks take up much less room on my shelves. They are also portable. Your hardware store marker storage system is brilliant. Thank you. I EAGERLY await any and all videos from you. You are like a breath of fresh air on the RU-vid scene. Barbara from Dallas
I have been wanting something like this for a long time . my requirements were : That it was somewhat square , th That it had individual compartments and it had a handle. I also wanted to lay it flat on my shelf. And be able to label it. BRAVO AND THANKS. You have Met a lot of my requirements. Dear One, could you plz make it travel ready. maybe with a top. Luff luff luff.
Just make it to fit in a storage box that has a lid - AND a handle!!!! There are tons of storage boxes like this... just need to know the size of the box, and cut to fit. An inexpensive tool box may work too! Depends on the length of your pens/markers. Let me know if you need help finding the right container! xoxox
A peg board is a great idea! Much lighter in weight than a traditional wooden peg board. Perfect for RVs, Skoolies or Tiny Homes on Wheels where weight is an important issue.
I have so many pens here there and everywhere Great idea Very doable I like your favorite stripes. . . Now with flowers and scallops. . . Very springy 💐💐
I found you looking for organizing and storage. Immediately I hit the subscribe button (you were at 50,000 I think). Talk about a going down a “rabbit hole!!!” Your presentation is perfect for me and always informative ❣️❣️❣️ Thank you 👍🏻
Thank you Noreen! This was wonderful. I will probably will have to stop watching you one of these days and actually get to work putting these ideas to work 😄😲😄😲 I have a real good excuse for not doing it yet as I have a toe broken in two places. It is part of the Osteomyolitis in my foot that I'm dealing with. can't wait to see more.!!! Pauline
Amazing Noreen it should be your name I'm always amazed by your ingenuity creativity and problem solving you have an amazing brain I absolutely love this idea thank you so much for sharing I hope your day is filled with beautiful moments You've really made my morning
Can't wait to see a collaboration with you and the Posh Paper Lady......two of my favorite RU-vid sites ❤ Great idea for markers, pens, pencils and paint brushes. Will definitely try it out. I look forward to all your video contributions....thank you so much for keeping us inspired. I have FINALLY (after a year of CoVid interruption) reclaimed my craft room (my son, whom I love dearly has found his own place....Yaaa) and now I am trying to organize it properly....with your help through your RU-vid videos....I can't thank you enough 🥰🇨🇦
This is a pretty neat idea. That last bit made me wonder if you couldn't use a spade bit and custom cut some thin plywood or Masonite for this purpose, so you could store multiple sizes of markers together. Ooo...or even use acrylic!
Oh my, my hubby told me NO MORE PROJECTS. Well, what he doesn't know won't hurt me. LOL. I want to get one of these grids, for a totally different idea. If it works like I hope, I will send you a pic. THANKS so much for sharing this.
Oh, I just love your name!!!!! It's not common at all! Welcome to my group, Noreen! I am so happy to have you here. ( And not just because we share the same name 😉)
Gosh! You are so creative!. I love watching you make things for us to save a lot of money. Everything in the crafting world is expensive and some of it, ridiculous. You have the best ideas and simple solutions for our crafting supplies. I'm really grateful I found your channel. Keep up the good work.
I am loving this - both the pen holder and using the rest as a pegboard type system. Just a comment about the marker cases they come in - I believe they open at the top for when you are using them but the cases can be stored with the markers horizontal when not in use - it's not very intuitive and the manufactures should do a better job of explaining this! We would all be a lot happier if our markers where always usable when we grab them. Thank you - you just got a new subscriber.
That is such a great idea. I bought a marker holder on VarageSale ca for $5. I later found out they were 25$. I am out of space now and did not want to buy another especially at full price. This is a great idea. I can even use the same measurements as the one I have so they match. Thank you so much Noreen!
I would definitely like to see the notebook idea. Sharpie has their oil paint pens that are quite large, so it would be nice to have a better way to store them. The notebook technique could also be used to store makeup brushes that have large handles.
Same concept but slightly different product: egg crate aquarium dividers. They come in smaller sizes if you don't want a lot of material left over, and you can get them on Amazon, so if you can't find them at a hardware store/don't have one near you, that's another option. Just make sure the grid is the right size and you're good to go :)
I’m waving my arms in the air!!! Lordy-Lordy. I’m so happy to hear that two of my absolute favorite ladies on RU-vid are going to do a collaboration. OMG...this much talent together, I can hardly wait!!! 😄👀😍
You are such a lovely, positive person. I am actually not a crafter but I enjoy watching your videos. Besides the cheap and smart ideas that you bring, your voice and smile just instantly relaxes me. Greetings from Belgium 🇧🇪
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I’ll need to measure the space I have and count the pens I have and see if I can make a plan. Did I say THANK YOU?!!? Great use of hardware
