When Eddie Murphy gathered theses greats under one film and made such a great movie, it was the move of lifetime. Much props to Eddie for this film. One of my all time favorites.
@@jayskicksnfits9372 3 things . 1 . Thanks for pointing out my error. 2. Thanks for your contribution to the conversation. 3< Where do you people come from?
@@BrotherNkosi, yes this is an all time great movie. Even better, all these greats got together to do this movie & gave the majority of the money to Redd Fox because his accountants jobbed him over & he was up to his eyebrows in debt to the IRS.
About a good 90% of the legends of this have gone to glory. RIP to Richard Pryor, Della Reese, Tommy Ford, Danny Aiello, Charlie Murphy, Redd Foxx, Reynaldo Rey, Robin Harris, and others. Harlem Nights is an absolute gem of entertainment. Mr. Murphy you truly made a marvelous masterpiece. Salute.
Can't forget snaggle tooth...R.I.P Ji-Tu Cumbuka 🙏🏿 My grandmother keep all westerns and old shows on her TV all the time, look at me in the Old TV sitcoms....He was real popular in a NBC series in the late 70s and early '80s called "A Man Called Sloane" his character name was (Torque) if that brings back some memories for you guys 😂 "Maurie" a film about NBA player Maurice Stokes ...He played Oscar Robertson I'm into all these old films so I may be taking you off the trail or way back before your time 😂🤙🏿 my bad I know you all remember Brewster's millions about 1984 and 1985 with John candy in it, 🤣 Now because I pay very close attention to hints in characters phrases and I'm aware this was the period in which you could play multiple roles in films and they'd still be good films! Ji-Tu Cumbuka also was in Brewster's millions lol ... If you remember he played the role as (Melvin) the black security guard at the bank 😉😂✊🏿 Mention if you watch Sanford and Son's or Roots he was in all that the guy played a good supporting role that is for sure 🙏🏿
What makes this scene so authentic is that many of us had been around old schoolers who would drink and talk trash while playing spades, poker, dominoes, etc. This scene felt too real and you damn near felt like it wasn't even acting.
They left out the best part...... Sugar: "Look, the game is over for tonight. I'm going to take this boy home to his mother." Kid Quick: "My momma's dead." Sugar: "Well, then your father." Kid Quick: "My daddy's dead too." Sugar: "Did you kill 'em?" That gets me rolling every time.
That dude deserves an award for this scene I think he was really pissed off about those dice. He snatched the shit out of Richard Pryor. To damn funny. LMAO!
Man in a movie full of classic quotables, this might have been my favorite scene in the movie. Cuz that was shooting the dice deserved some more screen time cause he played his role perfectly!
Frog-faced, gravel voice dude to take his slow walking ass.... (camera pans to Redd Foxx) lmao man that line hurt my feelings and made me laugh so fucking much when this movie came out. Great scene. Great cast
I remember I found this movie when I was like 8 yrs old and I was watching it and my mom came in the room and I thought I was gonna get my ass beat for watching a rated R movie but she sat down and started watching it with me and she knew all the scenes and we were laughing our ass off. That was the first time I looked at my mom like she was a normal person and not just my mom. I was thinking like my mom is pretty cool if she know this movie.
I have this movie on my DVR. I taped it yesterday morning. One of my favorite Eddie Murphy movies. This is three generations of comedians. Red fox, Richard Pryor, and Eddie Murphy. Rest in peace to both Richard Pryor and redd foxx.
@@mikimiki6202 i don't think it's about political correctness, there just to much money involved. Movies are not art, not even an amusement, it's business. There is talents out there but nobody to finance their projects
@@magaliebatterie3148 way too much political correctness these days. Everyone afraid to say anything, it can end careers. At least we have the classics
@@mikimiki6202 Exactly. These were the good ole days when people knew jokes, were just that...JOKES. Everybody was fair game, nobody was left out of the punchlines, it was funny and people didn't take it too seriously. Not like the world of the PC Police and Cancel Culture of today....
That little boy is the actor that played "Trey" from Boyz in the hood. Cuba Gooding Jr.' character at the start of the movie... I never noticed that before...
I laughed throughout this entire scene. This whole scene was chock full of hilarity. God bless Redd Foxx's hilarious soul. Even when that man just stood there he would make me laugh.
Kid version of Quick seemed A LOT harder and tougher than the adult version imo. I remember watching this movie as a kid and I never realized this kid was suppose to be Eddie's character younger lol. I remember asking my mom what happened to the kid and she explained that it was Eddie when he was young etc.
Cast of all time greats in comedy. Critics said this movie was horrible. Now it is considered a classic. We could have probably gotten a sequel if they had kept their Trout mouth shut. SMH. Mad props to Eddie for letting Richard get his shine. So much talent here the movie could have went on endlessly.
I remember vividly. This was the first ever "grown up" movie I got to watch. I can't recall a time I'd laughed so hard at something I barely understood. Memories.....
He also looks like Samuel Jackson too.I finally found someone who thinks the same as me.This guy is a reincarnation of Samuel Jackson or Samuel is a reincarnation of him
