In this video I will show you how to use Harley Davidson Engine Brightener to bring the black back to your motor. Get rid of the hazy ashy look on the matte black parts of your engine. Is this stuff worth 16 bucks?

Use masking tape to cover the metal portion of the detail brushes you use. It will protect your bike/finish better when you dig around the motor 😉👍

I acutlaly just got the s100 and the pig spit to do a side by side comparison...probably the next video I do for the channel...looking for a dirty motor as we speak!

I bought the S100 engine brightener this summer and haven’t used it yet and wasn’t clear how to use it or how effective it was but after watching this video I think I’ll go out and buy some little brushes and give it a try. Thanks Steve for the tips as always these are helpful videos 👍

Hey Joe let me know how it works brother...Hopefully you can use the video here for reference and see the difference between the s100 and HD's version. I haven't seen a motor cleaned with the s100 before. I did however see a forum post about it ruining someones paint...be careful where you spray for sure. I would with this stuff too actually. Its a bit oily feeling so avoid your floorboards and pegs too. Thanks for chekcing it out man and be sure to let us know about the s100.

Thanks for the tip on using the brushes. My HD was out of the HD brand but directed me to the S100 brand. It works good.

Hey Tony...I do keep hearing good things about the s100 as well. My HD also carries it but the guy that details out there says he uses the HD so I rolled the dice. I think next time I will try the s100 just for comparison. Do you recall how much you payed for the s100 at your local HD?

Hey Thomas...Yeah after testing and being able to see how long each lasts now I can report tat all 3 are all holding up very well to the elements. From now on when I ned some ill just purchase which ever one is the cheapest...thanks for checking out the videos ...be safe!

I am restoring the paint and engine on a 2003 ultra classic Electra glide. For the edges I am using 800 grit wet and dry sand paper on a paint mixer stick and using small kitchen brushes excellent for getting into the fins for washing. The HD Engine Brighter is working very good, I will have to apply 2 or 3 coats. Thank you for your video

yes its not uncommon to have to apply several coats on ones that are bad...and then reapplying often..it seems once they go, they go.. and its hard to get them to stay black..but this stuff is cheap enough for some touch ups every now and then.

Yes sir I just subscribed to your Channel my question is is it hard to get off your Chrome once you spray it and get some on there I'm putting on a 2013 Street Bob to make the black look better thanks and look forward to some more of your videos you seem like a down-to-earth guy catch you later brother bike looked beautiful

Lj Gaines hey thanks man.. Much appreciated! It's pretty sime to wipe off the parts yoi don't want it on... I dry wipe it off my chrome... Its semi oily but not too bad. It won't dry up on there do I just finish the black stuff then wipe off the chrome. Pretty easy. Thanks for the sub too... It helps alot. I have some new videos coming up soon. Just back from vacation. Shot one today and should be online tomorrow I hope.

What up I am a little late but I was wondering the spray you using can you use it on powder coated black spoke rims and Chrome and paint , pretty much the whole bike ??? and then Spray it off

all of these are pretty slick..and not really made to put on and then spray off...I wouldnt do that...plus spraying it off wont really get it off..you would have to wash it off and then its just gone ...so its kind of a waste

Sure mate your welcome ,be sure to (air the moto when starting up ) so that the rest evaporates with the heat of the engine .

S100 and HD brightner seem the same to me. Im lookin for the Data sheets and msds to compare. S100 has a much better spray tip. My 2000 flhri gets it twice a year. Even the greasy undergarments at least once a year. Oh the callipers n black wheels get it too. Clean the motor first...and it does not interfere with all the shiny stuff at all.

Thank you for the info! I have yet to try the s100 since I mad this video so thats good info on the tip. I did notice the the spray on the HD brand was lacking alittle but I didnt have any comparison. I will pick up a can here shortly and try it out though..my bike is due and no better time than the winter down time to spruce it up. Thanks again and if you get those data sheets let me know and ill share that info on the vid. Much appreciated.

@@sikbaggers I requested the msds sheets thru the company, S100. Basically they told me NO! Im not a company that purchases large amounts. WOW. I use technical data every day. I use technical data to make bacon n eggs for cryin out loud. I know it's the same product with same proprietary ingredients I can feel it. Only difference is that tip. Great video Steve. @@Little-tr7qr Very interesting..As i know they are not required to give that data to consumers its usually in their best interest if someone asks for it...they can even mark out areass to hide trade secrets if they want...thats crazy. I shot this on nov 20th ,17 and my motor is still black..but weather conditions and your riding conditions would effect it different than mine im sure. So far I have been very happy with it. I have another video coming up where I test this against the Pig Spit and S100...they all pretty much say the same thing but vary in price.

Will it work on the grey engine? The old standard one on the Electra glide.

I would say it will bring it back to the grey it was...i dont think it will make it black though. Its a clear type oil in the can.

Awesome man I was wondering how long it would last. I have seen other videos but no one really mentions the longevity of the product. I plan on doing an update video about half way through riding season next year so we can see how good it works. Thanks for checking it out Curtis and letting me know.

What do you use to keep the fin edges bright?

always clean them first with a soft cloth and some brake dust cleaner sprayed on the cloth, not the motor. If they are really bad you can use some 1200 grit sandpaper, wrap it around a paint stick or something like that, get it wet and lay the stick flat against the fins and only go in horizontal motions along the long side of the fin. Make sure to feel what you are doing and don't dig in...1200 is pretty forgiving but you can get carried away on a stubborn spot so just be careful. They will look like new when you are done.

Do you get a loud tapping noise through the intake almost sounds like woodpecker tapping at the filter

This arlen ness big sucker is much louder than the stock and even stage 1 breather from HD. I could instantly hear a louder "suck" but I I had already heard one on a guys bike and knew what to expect. Im not sure I would call it a tapping noise though. Maybe a muted tapping noise if that makes since..more like tapping on a towel but it is very audible

I get this on my bike but i have a mikuni hsr42. Its the slide slapping inside the body of the carb.

If you live in the desert (like me) don't use this stuff. It will make your wrinkle black paint look great. For a little while. Every grain of blowing dust and sand will stick like glue and it's hell to get off. Instead of wrinkle black your motor will be wrinkle brown.

great advise! This stuff does leave a slight residue on the motor. I have yet to ride mine in normal conditions to see how it reacts . Winter is almost over though!

So you mean due to the heat the paint starts to soften and get sticky again/ That would mean its not heat resistant

Front - amzn.to/37jYGVB H1315 - Rears - 1316 You will have to drill out the bolt holes slightly ..takes about 2 minutes but the holes are just slightly too small..well worth it for the price.

I just use acf 50 all over both my fat boy an vrod pay a bloke 50 quid an 4 hours later its done... Iv have been told about this off a friend and I told him what I do needless to say it takes 6 hours now an 100 pounds for 3 bikes an provides good salt protection in winter I even use it on matte paint
