Outstanding! Nobody has a video that I could find of bearing removal of Cush drive sprocket. I am changing front and rear tires and bearings as soon as tomorrow if they or when they get delivered and you helped me big time. The only outside help I need is having Cush/drive sprocket bearing pressed in. Thank You.
I’m on a budget, having a wife and 5 kids, but started the process of powder coating my wheels after seeing you mention it. I have funds to customize, not 131 or big bore money, so I’m doing it as I go. Appreciate the inspiration.
Excellent video Jon,yes the bearing puller tool, did the job,you have a great friend and mechanic, i ,replaced my rotor bolts for chrome ,when I got my wheels back from wheelbuilder, black rims, stainless spokes, continental white walls, best wishes 🇬🇧
Yes, yes yes, definitely make sure that you replace those brake pads. Once they have been saturated with any type of oil or lubricant, they will never work properly again. The brake rotors you can simply clean off with some brake clean.
Wrenching on your own bike is the most rewarding feeling you could have! I love it!! I powder coated everything on my 13' Breakout. I did copper on the wheels, it was sick!!
Love watching these wrenching videos.. excellent point about the right tool can save you lots of time and headaches. Can’t wait to see after the powder coating
I know you mentioned that you were only doing ride videos but, in my opinion I really like when you show hands on wrenching, going to Dave and showing work your having done! Enjoy all your videos! Great job as always John!
I think the wheel is going to look awesome...just got off of my Road Glide...was 62 degrees when I got off so went straight home and rode my problems away so to speak...my bike would really pop with that exhaust lol so pick me brother ...take care talk to you soon ..
Great tool to remove those bearings, can’t wait to see the results. Might be eat too use chemical to remove the coating. At least from what I see in other builds. Ride safe and god bless! 13:39
I know you already have valve stems. If you get the TPMS valve stems you can have the dealer turn on the TPMS system and monitor your tire pressure. Just a thought. I don't know if the balancing stuff will affect them.
John, it blows my mind that the factory wheels are already pitted. You'd think for what they charge for these things, that would be a non issue. Powder coat is definitely the way to go!
Looking forward to seeing your video on spraying the brake caliper covers.I need to find out what color Sandy used on black bird to match the red on my tank
@user-yv6yw9tu9c a good accent color. Since your bike is black you can go with black. Or go with the chrome to go with the rest of your powder coated parts. I have done blue and purple for people on builds that I have done.
Are you going back to the same rotors? Or are you going with an aftermarket set up? Can't wait to see your final results. Wait you never finalize your bikes you always come up with something cool to add or you sell the bike and start over again. Gotta have some topic to talk about , right!!
What about replacing wheel bearings with those ceramic bearings Zippers performance mentioned in your video when you visited there!? Supposed to reduce drag by 40% 😁
I have one of those bearing tools that i got off of amazon....it works awesome but i use it so infrequently that i have to watch a youtube video to remember how to use it! 😟 maybe i'll use this video from now on. 😎
What's the best to stop the tool from galling?? I have. 1) copper anti seize, 2) 3 in one oil 3) WD-40. 4) Oster hair clipper gear grease. Thanks for any info!!
Nice…. Hey John I have a k&n filter it’s new I had it on my bike for a week b4 I changed my air cleaner you could have it if you want. Let me know I’m going to Atlantic City this Saturday for the bike show if you want I could meet you somewhere and give it to you.
