In this episode, I'm tackling the front wheel issues on my Harley Davidson Road King. Is it the brakes, or something more serious? With an important Combat Veterans Motorcycle event coming up this weekend, the pressure is on to get everything sorted. Things don't quite go as planned, but I can't wait to share the journey with you all.

Friend had the same issue I cleaned up his axle and spacers, put fresh anti seize on the axle and new front rotors and brake pads no more noise wheel spins free

A lot people caged it to this event, weird California weather, hard rain on one day. Hope to see and ride with you two before you are off on your adventure :)

Not a fan of the whole 1999-up rolling gear, brake calipers or discs, or the new style wheel bearings. The old dual-cone Timken bearings were just fine if ya regreased them with the right grease at every tire change. Problem was not many guys left that know how to properly shim/space them. These new sealed bearing should be changed when the tire is changed. Usually they need to be!

Good info in my humble opinion. I think I am going to take your advice and ask for the sealed bearings to be changed when I get new tires. Thanks!

@@CageFreeMoto You can feel if the inner race has any slop or wiggle when ya pull the axle. That was one good thing, they went to a 1in dia axle, replacing the old 3/4in. But I've got a few high-mileage bikes from the 40s/50s/60s that did just fine with a 3/4.

It sounds like wheel bearings. Brake pads don't make that sound. Rotors don't make that sound even if one is warped.

I'm not a mechanic, and my primary concern was identifying the issue, even though I wasn't sure what it was. Thankfully, a professional mechanic has resolved it. It was certainly an intense ride. Once I discovered that the issue included the bearings, I realized I should not have ridden the bike and should have had it towed for safety. Fortunately, someone was watching over me.

Damn $700?....I would have ordered new Aftermarket Rotors....Bearings...Brake Pads...and cleaned up the Spacers and Axle for Half that and did it myself....But thats just Me...Glad you got your Bike up and Running Right👍😎🏍️

I experienced vibrations when squeezing the front brake and had heard that it could be due to a warped rotor. I have ridden the bike quite hard in the twisties, braking into curves. At 30,000 miles, the brakes needed to be replaced, along with the bearings and spacers. I'm glad it has all been addressed. Your questions made me reconsider if there was a single root problem, and after some reflection, I realized that everything I mentioned in the video contributed to the issue. Thank you for prompting me to think more deeply about it.
