I’m waiting for mine in the mail, so I thought I’d look for a video and came across yours🤙 you made the right move.. I’m happy I ordered them. Looks fire my man.
Have removed a number emblems over the years. Like the tape idea. I have used a dry erase, however have to watch that due to a light touch and it is gone. I am looking at doing the some emblem soon and this is very helpful!
Chase The Ride Thank You.....I was thinking that chalk would work also but like the dry erase marker it was too easy to not keep my install spot marked. I found that the thin line tape was the best option and made the install quite easy.
Dude, that looks sick! Also, this is your best install video so far! I am really liking the methodology you used with the tape, great idea, I will be rebadging mine soon as well. Also, quick question, did you try using goo gone for the remnants of the sticky tape left on the tank? I find it semi useful but only for the last thin layers left
@@kidmoto22 Absolutely, he is making a difference in so many lives. He talked about you in his video today so I thought I would check you out and I subscribed.
You can use isopropyl alcohol and a flexible plastic scraper. Heat it up a little again helps it jist dont burn the paint. Also id heat the new badge ip after install a little to get it to seat.
Hey looks great. I'm getting ready to remove the emblems from a denim black tank and am worried I'll bugger up the paint. Was there any leftover silhouette of the old emblem? I've done emblems on regular gloss paint and not had any issues. It's just the rubbing and scraping on the black denim that has me worried. Did the WD40 not stain the paint? What did you use to clean up the WD40? Any input on the denim paint would be greatly appreciated. It's guys like you that give the rest of us the nerve and knowledge to get the job done. Thanks for the great video. Shaun
Got rid of the tank badge and the new fender did not come with badges. Not sure if I will have anything painted on the tank. But I do not like badges. Prefer the paint. Also getting the flue totally off is a pain. Lol
im going to be installin version of the bar and shield on my bagger tomorrow...... lol, i removed my badges yesterday tho, so it'll involve some guess work haha
Thank you! I have the same stock emblem and I personally think it’s the ugliest one Harley has ever made. I have been eyeing the same solid black emblem you used for my wicked red denim street glide special
Lori B Taking the old emblems off is no joke but it totally changes the look of the bike. On your bike with the wicked red denim it would be amazing. I say do it.
I’m getting ready to repaint my 02 Electra Glide with a denim paint (color TBD… I can’t make up my mind 🤔)….. I want to rebadge the tank with a simple Bar & Shield, like you used. This was a great ‘how to’ video. Saved and subscribed. Did you order the emblem directly from Harley? I have seen these on eBay and Amazon but not sure of the quality.
I got them from @rebus_emblems on Instagram. I’ve had them on my bike for three seasons and they are a good product and 1/3 the price of you order them from HD.
Hey bro, I've got a '21 RKS with the chrome Harley badge but like the looks of the badge like you just took off. Any idea where those can be bought? Local Harley said they don't sell them. 🤷♂️
The GorillaBiker Without a doubt following Dirty Bikers can get you into a heap of trouble, but think of the fun you’ll have getting into that trouble.
Hey just bought the 2021 billards teal and gloss black road glide. Would love to remove the chrome badge and put them gloss black outline badges on. A link to buy them?
They are really great. Honestly I’m not sure I believe they are metal. They have the real 3m tape on the back and are solid as can be. I also installed the carbon fiber bag latch inserts and are great too!
Thank you. The size is 3 1/4 inches wide and 2 1/2 tall. They will deliver international for sure. I believe I paid about 150 for them and there was a bit of a defect with the first order and they sent out another set no questions asked. The shipping does take some time so you have to be patient. You can find them on Instagram at harley_rebus.
@@kidmoto22 What size is the badge you’re holding in this video? They have a couple different options but the one you have seem to be a good size for the tank.
You can only hold the heat on long enough to get the glue tacky…excessive heat would damage the paint so it’s a very quick process with the heat gun. There’s very little heat transfer to the tank below the badges.
I believe so. I’m not exactly sure of the CVO badge size. I’ve got tons of pics on my IG account and you can see for yourself the proportion in the wild!!
John Jerome I found them on Instagram. harley_rebus makes these overseas. There a little bit different size than the genuine H-D badges however they are a really good product. I’ve been very happy with them.
@@sambuvca22 Really dude your not the first to say that!!! There is an effect with the GoPro camera that’s called the fish eye effect and it can give the appearance of straight lines looking crooked specifically at the edges of the viewing area. I had not upgraded my cameras at the time of this filling and there are some times it looks a little funky!!!
