Was ready to remove tank to clean injectors 🤔 going to look at the relay and fuses tomorrow. My bike did turn off while riding in a Harbor freight parking lot, turned on and the check engine light would go on and off, only PO261 code showing 🤨 thanks for the video 👍🏼✌🏼
Thank you for your share. I am having the P0261 code only in my XL 1200 CB. The EFI light is turning on randomically and after it, this code appears. Only this code. I am going now check my relays and fuse storage. Thank you so much, I hope that I am going to solve my problem too with your tutorial.
Updating: My problem was the socket that connect the fuel injector, it was broken. Replacing it, the problem is not occuring. Thank you for the vídeo. :-)
Sorry I haven't replied. I only have service info for 2006. I don't know if your bike has the same system. If it does, turn the ignition switch on and the run switch to run and listen for the fuel pump. It should run for about 2 seconds. If it doesn’t, try a new system relay. If it starts, great job. If it doesn’t start, then it’s time to break out the DVOM and test light. Let me know what happens.
I have same problem bike dose not start checked everything and all seem fine. I get a p0261 code. Says low there is power getting to injector and sprays. But i think its the injector that is bad bikes not even 3 year old
Hello. I have a vrod 2014 , could u tell me if u know .. After 3 seconds after start -stall . I can use accelerate, but everytime it stall after 3 sec . I dont know what's wrong. I already checked fuses,relays . Everything ok. It has a the same fault codes . After stall , I listen how ecu relay one time clicks. After fuel pump starting work again for 1 sec . Sorry, I've never touched a VROD. Those dtcs deal with a loss of power to the injectors and system relay switch. If it's similar to my Eglide, the relay would cause the loss of power to the injectors. I'd check for anything that could cause the relay not to energize. Check for wiring/connector issues at the injectors. Check the fuse block for corrosion and loose fitting fuses. Make sure the relay socket is not corroded and the terminals are not loose. It wouldn't hurt to check the battery connections. HTH.
