Love how they handled this confrontation. Instead of the stereotypical grudge-holding, jealousy, or fighting, everybody sat down like adults and talked things through. They even forgave and moved on. It was very mature and cool.
@@Junkmeister I mean, the man almost never removes his helmet. And even when he does, its usually only for a short time, and with one or two people around. So...
I thought this season the writers would treat Kite Man as the rejected loser, but I'm glad they gave him a happy ending :D I didn't expect him to be seeing someone
Kiteman not really a super villain, more like a super thief, kinda a anti hero thing like 90% of flashes villains, he does not seek to hurt anyone just steal some money. Has long has your not the person being robbed he is a pretty good person. Also why golden glider is a perfect person for him because again she a flash villain. Honestly Kite man would be a perfect fit for the flash.
Can we just appreciate the irony of catwoman, one of batmans most prominent love interests, winning an award named after the guy who murdered his parents.
@@masterDarts4188 Imagine getting mad over a character having a different race then white. There are millions of white characters on screen for decades for you to feel "represented", and you're throwing a hissy fit because she isn't. GROW UP. Also shes been seen as black in many iterations I really don't see your point. Honestly just cut the crap, and be honest. You just don't want black characters represented on screen, and when you see a white character out of the 100s of 1000s being played by a person of color you, as I said throw a hissy fit. Oh and one more thing. STFU
@@gloopaboopin Why change Catwoman, a character who is often portrayed as white over the many decades she as been alive to give a scene such as this instead of giving it to a character who has always been portrayed as black ?
I was afraid that Kite Man was going to be screwed over for a couple of episodes before finding his way, but nope, he's got a girl who gets him. Also, she says his catchphrase, which is really adorable.
I like that catwoman considers herself as an antihero but still recognizes Black Manta deserves recognition for his villain work Also Kiteman choosing to better himself as a man and a partner after his relationship with Ivy rather than be embittered about it is so great
Oh man, if he's from the future they COULD ask him how race relations and disparities between them are in the future. "Yeah....after Trump Jr. became president with his running mate Disney-Pepsi Co it all got weird. President Exxon-Mobil at least was good for the economy."
I mean, at that point, just shrug and say "Well, if you don't want it, then give it back. If you're so certain we're giving it to you because of your sex and race, then give it back. You clearly don't deserve it, if that's the case." I mean, the whole speech threw me for a loop, because Catwoman was white for the majority of her run. In comics, in movies, in shows. Only recently has she been made black, and I'm fairly certain that's just to tick a box. In short, I found it disingenuous and forced.
@@MrJinglejanglejingle she was black in the 60s tv series played by eartha kit and has also been black in other media as well.. Yes she started white but black cat woman came into existence like 56 years ago. If folks want the white cat woman then coolio but black cat woman thing for a long time and isn’t just some new wokeness race swap

For basically being a satire on the whole of the dc universe, Harley Quinn has some of my favorite depictions of characters. It’s honestly really nice after seeing poor renditions for such a long time.
I like how there namesake for the awards making a difference moment was he caused the tragedy that helped make Batman wanna Batman in the first place which I’m turn helped make joker, two face, every robin to ever robin, heck the entire bat family, etc etc. You know what? Joe chill actually did make a huge difference
@@jt808ful And here’s the hilarious part. Joe chill is the reason that every criminal in Gotham has Batman all over them 24/7. Because of what he did, he’s probably saved more lives than he took.
@@michaelterrell5061 another funny thing is that in one story, joe chill offs himself because when Batman reveals who he is to him in private, joe chill becomes afraid of what the criminal underworld in Gotham would wanna do to him for Batman becoming Batman in response to what joe chill did.
So glad how they handled this. Usually there’s a grudge involved in this scenario but it makes me so happy to see them all get along and Glider’s such an endearing character in this episode.
you onow she says, “the sabbath is on saturday” which is true. basically the catholic church changed it, under a decree by constantine, for the worship of the sun.
@@youtubehandle-u2l Christians worship on Sunday because we believe jesus resurrected on a Sunday. He was captured on a thursday, questioned all night, and killed on Friday. He didn't do anything during the sabbath, so he must have risen on a Sunday.
I love how kiteman is the lamest villain ever but is the sweetest guy in the whole show Looking forward to seeing more of him with this new best girly here! :D
@@leephillips4402 She's a supervillain by association. I would like to see her take up her late husband's mantle though and become a Misses Freeze haven't seen that before.
Everyone has a soulmate. It's obvious that Kiteman and Golden Glider are each other's. I'm glad Kiteman was able to bury the hatchet with Harley and realize that Ivy is much happier with her than she was with him. Ivy can also recognize that Glider makes Kiteman happier than she ever could've.
I already love Golden Glider, and I'm excited to see more of her in Kiteman's spinoff show. BTW I wonder if we'll see Golden Glider's brother Captain Cold or any other members if the Rogue's (group of Flash villains, btw super underrated team)
@@БезумэВыкрут No, I have noticed him multiple times in the show and even in this episode as well, which I do find it kind of strange that even though both Lisa and Leonard Snart are both at this awards show, they never even once interact. Maybe we'll see more of them together in Kiteman's spinoff.
I mean, I don't. Her character was White for decades, and the sudden shift to being black feels forced. Hell, the whole speech felt forced. The whole scene just feels like its there to, as she said, tick a box. It doesn't work, and feels like someone added a jarring yellow color to an otherwise lovely landscape painting.
@@MrJinglejanglejingle yeah yeah, we all knew there’d be at least on of *you* in the comments. To anybody else reading, probably best to just ignore him
@@MrJinglejanglejingle It's there to call out real award ceremonies, and it's meant to be awkward Her change in race is part of the joke, which is why she pointed at Black Manta
@@Pelayum That's fine. But call out these aware ceremonies with an ACTUALLY black character. Like, oh, I dunno... Black Manta? Maybe!? He was there! But no, they had to go with Catwoman, because she's a popular IP, she's a woman, and they've race-swapped her a dozen and a half times because they want brownie points. Its not good writing, its there to make people nod their heads like mindless drones.
Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if Cold’s okay with it. After all, Kite-Man is by far the least problematic villain his sister could possibly end up with. I’m sure he still acts like he can’t stand being around Kite-Man, but I doubt he’d do anything to sabotage their relationship.
@@tamashorvath224 I don't remember exactly when, but I think it was shown fairly early on that he was a black dude. Though, I don't think it was ever commented upon. It was just the reveal, and nobody stopped to point out that he happened to be black.
This and Harley and Kiteman's conversation were great. I am not a big Kiteman fan, would never have expected Kiteman content to be some of my favorite scenes so far this season, but they really were. I'm actually wanting to watch his and Golden Glider's (Klider? Golden Kite?) spinoff now.
I love that part between Ivy and Golden Glider. Question, is it really wise for Catwoman to evolve in the criminal world once her chaotic-not-really-stable relationship to Batman is discovered? 2:04 i get it that Black Manta don't remove his helmet often? XD 3:11 wait, why would the meat in the chili bother Ivy more than the veggies in it? i mean, it's Poison Ivy, right? Protecting plants is supposed to be her whole deal, not animals.
It depends on the version of poison Ivy some make her only care about plants and is a carnivore while others make her care about the earth in general including animals and then some just make her vegan.
Catwoman's no quitter. She'll stick by the criminal façade until the very last opportunity. Also, I think their stability really depends on the author. For example, some comic book assholes just want to keep the Bat-Family in the fucking gutter all the time, while others (like in Pre-Crisis and fans) want to give them a happy ending. In this case, Harley Quinn's known for subverting expectations and the whole "Batman eats/doesn't eat pussy fiasco" so I think they'll probably be stable.
Joker presents the "In Memorium" video, saying they are "gone but not forgotten", when he straight up Murdered one of the deceased with acid. I'm sure the Scarecrow would be touched.
I like that “altered his blood to match his wife’s so that he could cure her chronic illness with a blood transfusion but the process killed him” was too long so they just settled for “it’s complicated” 😂😂
Doubtful, considering her character was white for decades. Almost her entire run as a character, she was white, and now she just happens to be black for... Reasons? The whole thing felt forced, and just made me want Joker to hold out his hand and say "Well, then you clearly didn't deserve the award, as you didn't earn it. Give it back, we'll give it to someone that ACTUALLY earned it, considering we clearly only gave it to you for your race and sex."
Everyone: Aww, kiteman finally has a girlfriend who truly loves him Me knowing what happens in the comics: *mhm, yeah, totally won't die a horrible death*
No wonder nothing about her character in Kiteman's show seemed familiar to me😂 not only her costume changed, they gave her a whole new personality, I was like wasn't she nicer, more shy and quieter? What happened?
I feel one of the few things, character direction wise, I like that the writer did with this show is making sure Kite Man rebounds with a good person. I like that Ivy and Harley are in their Relationship but I actually enjoyed the dynamic of Ivy and Kite Man
I'm proud of her for calling out her race's hypocrisy. I'm glad her Race Change went so well, what with being a white woman for 90% of her character's run in every medium.
Dont mind that jingle jang dude. He’s been postin hundreds of comments butt hurt that his catwoman is black. And that shes telling a bunch of white people about their racism. And he’s very upset
I love this speech so much but god Damn sometimes I can’t even get through it without laughing “He’s black” kills me everytime honestly didn’t know that
Not gonna lie I was the same as Joker did not know Black Manta was actually black until I looked it up because back in the super friends days I just thought he trying to sound cool lol

It takes some damn good writing to challenge the "girlfriend meets the ex" trope, have them turn awkwardness into shared appreciation...and still make it enjoyable viewing without being preachy or superior.
