I've got a 2016 XL1200X, with two weird behaviors that started during a day of hard riding. 1. When I start it, it revs up very high, to nearly 3000 rpm, and hangs there for much longer than it used to, maybe 10 seconds, before returning to idle. 2. The throttle would get "stuck" open, not the physical throttle, I've checked that there's nothing stopping the cables or the valve for the throttle body from working, but I would take my hand off the throttle entirely and I would just sit at 40-50mph on the highway, not slowing down or stopping. I replaced the throttle position sensor all ready, which seems to have helped the startup issue a tiny bit, dropping the max starting rpm from 3300 to 2900 or so (though maybe that's just the weather or the fact that it didn't have much gas in it until yesterday when I brought some home), then I did what you did in this video, which unfortunately hasn't helped. Any tips? I'm thinking maybe I have to replace the IAC sensor

Can this same process be used to do a light cleaning on the cv carbs or is it better to take it apart and use carb cleaner? Thanks for all your work on these videos. They’re great for guys like me just getting started turning wrenches on these great bikes!

3:20 What's wrong with gas exhaustion? Is it normal? Does it have anything to do with cleaning the throttle body?

Hey man! I’m having an issue with my 1988 Harley sportster! I have to keep giving it throttle in order to stay running. If I lay off the throttle it eventually dies. Is that a vacuum leak? I was gonna replace the seals on the manifold to see if that did anything. Any ideas??

Hi I've encountered a throttle problem with my '17 XL1200C. After riding for 45mins or so, or until the engine is hot, the engine won't return to idle on closing the throttle. The throttle grip itself is closed OK but the motor continues to run at slightly high revs. Once I get stopped, say at traffic signals, after 30-45 seconds the idle speed will reduce to normal. Also if I hit the kill switch and then immediately re-start, the engine will re-start at normal idle revs. Will this procedure help? Thanks in advance!
