Bought my mobility lift through Marc's Mobility and the service is excellent! The price was right and Marc suggested if I got a prescription for the lift, then no tax! I needed it done quickly so Marc gave me the name of a place to have the hitch put on and then he made time to put the lift on as soon as the hitch was in place. Quality service and it came with a personal tutorial and some freebies I didn't know I would need!
My AL-100 platform is now bent. When lowering my scooter the left side reaches the ground first. My truck was down for a year, soon as I began using this new lift the platform bent and looked warped. I have a Pride ZT10 that has two motors on the scooter why it can turn sharp on a dime and have four wheels. The ZT10 total weight is 250 pounds, which sounds fine below the weight limit, but the problem is the majority of the weight is the two motors in the back of the scooter, so way more weight on the left side where the AL100 warped. But paying $3,100 for this lift I am upset. No vehicle hit it, I added brakes and turn lights to the lift keep people back further. I can park the scooter on the AL100 opposite make the lift warp the other way or catch it when it is back level, then have a fabrication shop strengthen the lift with more cross members, but a customer should not have to do that.
Can you use the swing away with a scooter on it?... You will get a ticket cuz your licence plate is covered up and your back up camera is blocked, there is also a high probability of getting rear ended...
its been 9 months since you commented that... wanna go back and see if it makes any more sense now? There's clearly a license plate bracket that is lighted, so thats a non issue. Yes your backup camera will be blocked. if you cant back without that, then get off the road. "high probability " of getting rear ended? Why? brake lights are still just as visible as without it... people use these things all the time and have for years.
It depends on how old the lift is. Newer lifts have the motor cover that comes apart in 2 pieces and its easy to replace. The older models are a little more difficult just because you're not able to split the box like the newer ones, you have to get your hand up into the cover. Both models will have a nut and washer on the backside of the key switch that you would take off to remove the switch itself and replace. Hope that helps you out!
I have this lift with the swing away,, but the connector to my battery does not fit, because I have a different vehicle than it was used for before. How do I get an adapter to connect the port on the wiring harness to my 2016 Ford Explorer to get power to my lift
It depends upon the accessories. Without the swing away, I have seen it priced at $1999.00 in the past, you will need to check for yourself. If you go to Harmar, it has a listing of dealers in your area. You will need a class 3 hitch. The lifts I have seen demoed operate using the push button on the lift only.
Hi Amy, You can use a hitch bolt with a lock on it but then you will have some wiggle/play in the lift. Someone would have to come with a socket set and unbolt it and take it off. Unfortunately today people can steal nearly anything if they have their mind set on it.
My question regards the arm that comes down to hold the scooter. On mine - 10 years old - the stopper has come off and the arm is piercing the floor of my scooter. I have not been able to afford a repair for that problem and I am afraid my scooter will be unrepairable by the time I can afford to fix it! Can you suggest a temporary fix??? Anyone???
