Dude! Thank you so much for these harmony videos. I’m a guitar player who recently bought a dsi OB6 ( which I adore) and these videos are helping immensely. Just the tip on using LH for low note and RH for higher notes is huge!!!
Thanks so much for this! I've had a hard trying to play gospel hymns the way my music directors plays 'em. All this time, it was just the 1 and 2. (I know for the basic stuff to start), but this at least gets me started playing and having confidence to play in church on the keys more. I'm a church drummer, so...
Great tutorial so much info in just 2 minutes! The only problem I have is the fingering. Any idea how to finger the chords including the grace notes? Thanks!
Often, the leading tone is left out (B). I don't have a definite answer for ya as to why, but it's just not characteristic of the style. The leading tone is to imbalanced and wants to lead the harmony somewhere else, whereas this type of harmonization (between 1 and minor 2) allows for the content to be stagnant. It also just sounds good--especially in a choir! :) Hope that helps.
J - 3 - P - 0 like C3PO from Star Wars. The 3 in the logo is actually a W flipped to the left. So it's actually the initials to my full real name ;) Julian Waterfall POllack ;) (yes Waterfall is my legal middle name) ... and I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan (the original films).
