Harmony is the only character who was in both the unaired Buffy pilot and the final episode of Angel. So when you think about it, the whole Buffyverse is really the story of Harmony.
2:38 _"The girl of your dreams loved you. That's more than most people ever get."_ That moment in life when Harmony shares with us the harsh truths about life and love.
Despite this show having this many vampire, (I mean, considering it's a vampire show), Harmony was a great addition to the show. She's one of the best parts of Season 5. Even though she briefly appeared in the 2nd season, it was great to have her again in the final season. She's one of the most hilarious characters ever created. Sad that Merecedes McNabb quit acting. She's actually one of the best.
She is actually the longest running character (and actor,) in the Buffyverse. She is the only one who was in both Buffy's un-aired pilot and the series finale of Angel.
I adore Harmony! Mercedes McNab is _the_ most underrated comedic actor in the Buffyverse. Also just love the fact that Mercedes/Harmony were the final character added to the opening, thus getting promoted to main character status. Stared in the unaired pilot, all the way to the end of the universe (on TV at least). Well deserved and awesome!
Harmony is such a wonderful character in Angel, and Mercedes McNab elevates her to a whole new level as a vampire. Bringing her back was such a genius move, I could never get enough of her little appearances.
I kind of wish Harmony had completely been on Angel's side in the very end. I really thought she was reforming by that point But her last scene was hilarious nonetheless.
Turning Harm into a vampire and later bringing her on Angel, that sort of unpredictable mixing of characters is what was so genius about the Buffyverse. Imagine back in Season 3 being told that Harmony was going to become Angel's secretary as CEO of the LA branch of a trans-dimensional demon law firm.
I thought Harmony was incredible and deserved more appreciation from her co-workers! 'I would, if you had confidence in me' is a pretty knockout blow to all the judgemental self-righteousness the heroes on Buffy and Angel so frequently thought they could get away with.
It doesn't help her case when she switches to the strongest side though. Harmony is in Angel's employ for less than a day before defecting to a vampire cult that she was _supposed_ to be investigating. Three years later, she's back working for Angel again-but only after he's become Wolfram & Hart's CEO. Harmony betrays Angel at the earliest opportunity (again) by bedding Hamilton, who is incidentally higher on the totem pole than Angel is.
@@nicktoons125 True. However, I often found this sort of situation used as a deus ex machina in Buffy and Angel, and other TV shows too. Someone you have never trusted or treated with respect betrays you, and so that is used as 'proof' they would have betrayed everyone anyway, even had they been treated with kindness and accepted into the gang, when there is no evidence for that scenario. Same thing happened with Faith. There's no excuse for the betrayal in either case, but one is still left wondering whether it would have happened at all if the heroes had been kind and accepting instead of 'we already think you're evil BEFORE you've done anything to betray us!'
You prove you are trustworthy over time. I like Harmony as a character. But even as a human, you could not trust her. Cordelia was her best friend and she turned on Cordelia because she was dating Xander who was considered uncool and a loser. Even when Cordy dumped Xander to please her friends, they made fun of her by trying to pair her with Jonathan. She has betrayed Cordy, Buffy, Spike, and Angel multiple times. How many times must someone betray you before you get the hint you can't trust them? Faith is beautiful, sexy, fun, and strong. But she is also extremely gullible and easily manipulated. She descended down a dark path when she murdered the deputy mayor, refused to take responsibility, and tried to blame his death on Buffy. After Wesley ratted her out to the Watcher Council and she saved Buffy's life, she then betrayed them to the mayor yet proved she was redeemable by saving Buffy's life. Over time, she proved she was trustworthy by Angel refusing to give up on her when she hit rock bottom in Season One of Angel and Wesley witnessing this giving her a chance to redeemed herself in Season 4 of Angel when Angel turns evil again and that event led to Willow taking her back to Seaso 7 of Buffy with Faith making amends to Buffy for how she wronged her in the past and Buffy trusting and forgiving her. Redemption takes time whether it's Spike, Buffy, Wesley, Angel, Gunn, Cordy, Willow, Faith, or Gunn. The story of Redemption is a great story to tell. That was the whole purpose of the show Angel.
@@francarrey7501 Yes, but no one ever achieved redemption without at least one person giving them unconditional love before it was deserved. If you have no hope anyone will ever love or trust you even once you have proven yourself, you have no reason to try. I've seen this many times with the troubled students I worked with: until you show unconditional love and trust them to do the right thing WHEN THEY DO NOT YET DESERVE IT, they will never improve. That is human nature and relationships. Faith's redemption started with Angel showing her undeserved mercy. Not one character ever showed that to Harmony, which was why she had no hope and I felt deeply for her.
With Harmony this show did something very special. They somehow managed to create a character that absolutely infuriated me every time she showed up, but I never actually wanted to go away.
Wednesday was right. She will be the victim all her life. I absolutely loved Harmony. This one scene in Buffy, when Xander tells Buffy they were attacked by Harmony and her gang ... and Buffy laughs her ass off ... "Harmon has a gang" 🤣😂 Ps.: Mercedes McNab also played the role of Amanda Buckman in 1993's "Addams Family Values" alonside Christina Ricci.
I never knew Harmony was in the unaired plot of Buffy the vampire slayer I need to check that episode out I thought her first appearance in Buffy was the harvest anyways ❤ her both on Buffy & angel she truly is a icon Harmony is one of my favorite characters in the buffy verse whatever you do don't mess with her 🦄😅
Harmony even as a vampire was mostly the same as she was as a Human aside from the murderous, hunting, physical torturing, and sexual predator tendencies as both she was stuck up, shady, shallow, superficial, rude, spoiled, bratty, show offy, had a napoleon complex, and more. But also not all bad as if she was getting paid a certain amount she would do good or semi good things or if she has a contract or promise of a promotion she will do heroic things for those reasons or for certain people she fancies yeah.
She doesn’t have a soul. She’s not drinking human blood though. Similar to pre-soul chip having Spike. I think that has an effect on her character, she still does some bad stuff in season 5, like betraying Angel and covering up the murder she thought she committed.
how i hate her, really, what i want more than anything in the ''Buffyverse'', is seeing in a canonical comic of course, Buffy finally dusting this piece of filth, !I WANT TO SEE THAT SOON¡.
