The film makers got their subway details wrong again. On location was on the street; but the subway scenes? Certainly looked like in the studio set mockup of an I.R.T. station platform. They were standing on a side platform with the wall behind them so it was a local station, yet the destination sign in the car said express. If the next stop was 42nd St., and they were going downtown towards Coney Island, the previous express stop would have been at 72nd St. & Broadway - they entered an I.R.T. subway kiosk, so they were taking the west side I.R.T., Broadway-7th Ave. line. On the east side, there were no kiosk entrances above Grand Central - 42nd St. However, at 72nd St. & Broadway, there was no sidewalk kiosk entrance, just a large buildwere ing in the middle of the street. So the street location wasn't even correct. The subway car was designed to look like a "Hedley Hi-V" steel subway car (fleet built 1910-1911), but the car number, #2734 was wrong. Hedley's were numbered: 3700-4024. And this car number was never used in the I.R.T. subway car fleet. The earliest cars, Composites (fleet built 1903-1904), were numbered 2000-2159 (trailers), and 3000-3339. The movie makers got the next station right - 42nd street, since if Harold Lloyd & Ann Christy were going to Coney Island, they would have gotten off their I.R.T. train at 42nd st. to transfer to the B.M.T., which would take them to Coney Island. Interior scenes taking the B.M.T. to Brooklyn to Coney Island would have been nice to include, they would have been riding B.M.T. Standard steel cars, whose interior design, seating plan, doors, windows, were aesthetically pleasing for a NY subway car, had character, and were unique.Yes, nitpicking to the nth degree, I know, but when details are not correctly done in a movie, a number of errors can always be picked out.

Did you notice that the station entrance was at Bowling Green? I actually did not know there were entrances to that station besides the headhouse in that day. Probably the train was a set, since the number of that car was an AB standard in reality. Also, the station where they arrived clearly is not Stillwell Avenue.

I should also add that if they got on the BMT at Times Square, they most likely would have taken a Sea Beach Express via Bridge train since the West End Line didn't go into Manhattan on Sundays. Although I suppose they could've gone on the Brighton Line. And if they were going from Bowling Green they would've changed from IRT to BMT at Atlantic. Although it would make more sense to instead go to Whitehall and take a 4th Ave Local via tunnel train then transfer at DeKalb. Only one fare that way
