As a kid (1970's) I found the old Columbia 78 of this tune (the original version, not this remake) at a yard sale-- It was pretty darn worn, but I played it on my old Webcor tube phonograph and wore it out even more!

Harry and his orchestra originally recorded "James Session" for Columbia Records (#36677) in 1942 as the b-side to "I Heard You Cried Last Night." The band also performed this tune in the wartime comedy film, "Private Buckaroo."

No one does it like the great HJ, especially the half valve effect.

I thought Buddy Rich was the drummer on the "Harry James in Hi-Fi" sessions.
