This is a video that I really haven't been looking forward to sharing with you guys, and I wish it was a different scenario and Harry was fine and dandy, but sadly this isn't the case. I am very grateful to his owner Andrew for giving me the pleasure of looking after his special horse over the years. I'll always cherish the memories 💙

I recently made the decision to put down my top horse due to the fact she had a unknown undiagnosed neurological condition, she took and turn and she became a danger to herself and everyone else, we made the decision and it will always be the right one. You and his owner know what is best and he'll get to spend his time in the field enjoying himself for the rest of his days.

It’s sad that a lovely genuine horse had to end his career early. At least you know where he is and you know Andrew very well so in a way it’s worked out where he’s living the rest of his days and telling his freinds all the fun adventures he’s had over the ridden years etc. You did what most people wouldn’t of done , you put him first and you never treated him like a machine. Lucy your seriously amazing and you did a very good job with him. 💚

The best decision is often the hardest, you consulted with Harry's owner and vet and sometimes the outcome is not what you would like, very brave, very sensible and happy retirement Harry xx

God, Harry is such a beauty, inside and out, and was built to event, just not forever. Mad props to you, Miss Lucy, for making the right and safe decision for both of you. Harry will be as happy as can be in his retirement in excellent care. "Better to have evented and lost than never to have evented at all", I think the bard said. And, its not like you are left horseless, with plenty still on your plate to distract you. Clearly hard, but with buddies and turnout and plenty to eat and someone still to love and another to visit, Harry will be just fine :) Thank you for all you share.

Oh Lucy I'm so sorry this has happened to Harry. You were so happy to have him back too, such a shame that a horse as genuine as him had to get this condition hun. But you have definitely made the right decision both for Harry and yourself. Like you said, it wasn't safe for you as a rider and we sure as heck don't want anything to happen to you hun! At least he will go and live out his days in a relaxed way, living his best life getting fat and fluffy in huge paddocks where it is stress free for him hun. I am so sorry lucy, its the hardest decision to retire your horse especially when there still young enough. I had to retire my 13yr/o due to a fluke injury and it was Hart breaking. sending love your way ❤️

I’am sure you are very very disappointed because you had high hopes for him, but it doesn’t always work out and that’s just a fact, I’am just glad he does have a place to go to retire, because a lot of horse aren’t that lucky …..
