Nathan caulk the grass up to a learning experience. Next year you'll know what to look for. I farmed in the early 80s. I just wish we had videos like your's. I've learned alot watching you.
As for weed control, I remember back in the 60's and 70's that's what all the corn fields looked like when being harvested. It made great habitat for pheasants and rabbits here in Pennsylvania. It wasn't good for yield, but made excellent hunting.

I blame the dry weather on the fall grasses as well. I am just as guilty as anyone by not fall spraying, and there's good material out there too. You cover up the winter annuals with all that corn fodder, not much good weather left, costs money, the sprayer is already put away, and you wonder, how's the spray gonna help now? Then, next spring, you ask yourself why didn't I spray last fall when I had the chance? Oh, well.

I have not heard anything good about fendt combines. My neighbors brand new fendt kept plugging in the rotors and it end up burning down from that. 2 other farmers bought them and traded them off the following year. They said it was non stop problems. So unless they drastically changed. They aren’t something I’d ever buy. The fendt tractors are a vastly different story.
Curious - assuming a new farm within 5 or so miles of your operation, average quality ground, no ingress/egress issues, average price comes on the market; what’s about the minimum acreage that would make it worth farming?
I am surprised every doesn’t run the stock stompers. I watch all your videos but you know. Show me for foxtail grass please I don’t think I know what it looks like. I have been telling people about your videos and how you explain stuff. Some of the other RU-vidrs are downright disrespectful. I know people can be punks I will be nice and say punk lol. I am not one of those people.
